Thanks guys great content, Thomas is the most efficient golfer I've seen on utube,no doubt in my mind, I called him the smash factor King ive caught many video from thomas on utube from the establishment in Minnesota,,, which to me the smash factor could be the most important number on that board!!
Good stuff fellas!
Just bought 3 dozen b rxs- yellow, quality with good endorsement. Awesome ball
Nice timing was looking to try some callaway chrome soft. Any chance to add the CSX-LS in another video together with RCT as baseline?
Any insights on durability vs proVs?
I’d like to see the results for irons on approach. That’s where I always saw the difference in the super soft. Usually collecting it from the back of the green, or back fringe.
That’s the biggest thing Thomas, consistency without a doubt
I’d like a recommendation for high handicap golfers
A friend of mine is a PGA Tour coach. says 1mph = 3yards of distance. 3 MPH's is almost 10 yards in carry.....so not nothing.
Great test and thanks for the data! I think it would be interesting to see the same test at different swing speeds and with 50 yard pitches as well.
I play csx ls and is the best golf ball for me
Did you leave 2nd swing? You should start own fitting company
The driver numbers are worthless for comparison. The launch angle is very different, which means the peak height, spin, and total distance will be different. Without a consistent dynamic loft at impact, you can’t draw conclusions on what ball is best, other than “feel”.
Balls launch differently with the same dynamic loft. The dynamic loft does not show in the stats overview here, but the launch is also a ball thing and not just a dynamic loft thing. Watch Titleist Europe ball fitting video and they talk about different balls launching differently based on dimple patterns etc.
Exactly my point. If the dynamic loft was present and consistent, we could then compare the launch characteristics of each ball. Unfortunately even if dynamic loft was provided, it wouldn’t be very helpful since it’s a calculated number from Trackman. Only the GCQuad gives and accurate dynamic loft at impact.
Try hitting the super soft the same speed. Get real 3 MPH difference
Use the pxg ball
Do the test again at 105 Driver speed and under, the ERC will beat them all and it's more accurate.
Seen this same test with the robot at different speeds.
I’m around 105
Played the erc months ago but ran out
But seemed like I hit it further and kept it straighter.
Have u tried the chrome soft x ls?
I’m looking for low spin for long drives
@@WeimaranersAreTheBest The ball works better for older iron lofts, to stop good on the greens and long with the driver.
If you are going to the better ball the Wilson golf ball will be longer off the driver with better dispersion and you can find that ball cheaper half price sales all the time.
Gave up a ball that finally got me over the 300 yd drive milestone (downhill) because it couldn't hold greens. I crushed my bud the last two times out so it was the right decision. 😎
I think ball testing indoors is probably only good for quantifying drivers. Everything else needs to be on course as the external variables (quality of lie) reduce the difference between balls, a therefore what real difference is there between balls. Players need to know what the ball characteristics would help their game by scenarios. An extra 5-7 yards driving distance means little compared to keeping a ball on the green from 50 yds on the fairway which diminishes in rough as any difference in spin is lost through contact in rough.
Next time find someone with a little more swing speed. What's Rory doing?
Seriously though, why do you guys keep doing this. The average golfer has a swing speed of 90-95 mph. Do the test at that swing speed.
should have someone that swings like a human, 90-100 do the same test
Exactly. These tests are great for the A players, but what about the C and D type of players that don’t have ball speeds above 140 with a driver.
I like videos like these but there is always one constant. No matter who does the video anytime they are testing the golf balls out, they always swing harder when it comes to the more expensive ball. Almost guaranteeing that it performs better than the lower budget balls.
Give me a break, guys. 1) What about golfers with less than professional swing speeds? Your test is applicable to what 5% (probably way less) of golfers. Few if any high swing players would even consider Supersoft or ERC. So who is this video directed at? 2) What about the consistency of balls within a model. A recent test of the Supersoft showed very poor consistency. 3) In your description you state that "The Chrome Soft X is the most used ball on tour..." That beggars belief.
Being a slower swing apped player, i had very good results w/the ERC ! But it seemed to nick up on me a little bit. Also it's now $40/doz. for just having a sprayed on a urethane cover.🤔
The ERC is the fastest "SOFT" golf ball I have tried. I swing it around 108-110 mph with the driver and it 's gone just as far if not further than alot of premium harder golf balls. Callaway did a good job with that ball but the price is creeping up now to the $40 mark. That said I still play the Chrome Soft because I just love the feel and I shoot my best scores using it so I stick with it.
