Richards is a very big light heavyweight while bivol could easily fight as a super middleweight. Richards had a huge physical advantage, he is taller, has a longer reach and he is bigger muscles. It is not easy to fight against someone bigger because you have to move a lot to hit him and not being hit, then your punches has less effect

While Bertibiev had the Power to knock people out Bivol had the footwork and defense to overcome that. Bivol showed that during his fight with Canelo. I wasn't counting punches but overall it felt like Richards might have landed more punches than Bivol but Bivol's were more snapping accurate lands (when they landed) and Richards had more softer shots but then again, his power punches were very powerful when they landed. It depends on what judges want to reward I suppose.
All he really has over canelo is size and if he know how to use it and bully canelo then he has a chance. Canelo has everything else over this guy. I’m honestly having a hard time seeing why people rate Bivol so highly. May e there isn’t much at lhw other than Arthur beterbiev.

Edit: As of 5/21/21, there are reports that Ramirez is actually rumored to fight Sullivan Barrera on July 9. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Barrera may pose some challenges but why him? He already lost to both Bivol and Hart. This is another wasted tuneup imo. (Ramirez is stalling for the perfect 50-0 record.)

Watching the highlights it didn't look like a close fight. Richards didn't seem to have been landing enough.
I wasn't counting punches but overall it felt like Richards might have landed more punches than Bivol but Bivol's were more snapping accurate lands (when they landed) and Richards had more softer shots but then again, his power punches were very powerful when they landed. It depends on what judges want to reward I suppose.

Bivol is slick enough to give Canelo problems. He doesn't really waste punches. Canelo has grown as a fighter I'd watch it.
All he really has over canelo is size and if he know how to use it and bully canelo then he has a chance. Canelo has everything else over this guy. I’m honestly having a hard time seeing why people rate Bivol so highly. May e there isn’t much at lhw other than Arthur beterbiev.

Wow. This is some of the best boxing I’ve seen in a long time (Bivol). Now I actually think he may have held back on Canelo and canelo had to avoid jabbing because of how incredibly smart and quick bivol is at countering. What an incredible fighter. i’m now a fan.
Bivol and Beterbiev should fight together. Maybe Canelo if he goes up back, should face one of them. These are really so tough fights.
