I have four Invicta watches. They are Pro divers and I also have a Speedway. All of them have performed very well. No issues at all. In fact I get complements ......that makes me happy. The watches in my collection also include an Orient, Tissot, Seiko and G-shock. Some like Invictas and some do not. For the money you cant do better.
I stumbled into mine today in the storage thanks to my watch storage wore this just once. I’m giving it a wrist time this month. I have 6 invicta watches great watch among my watch collection. Thanks for sharing.
Whenever I decide to purchase a watch I always ”always” go to your UA-cam page to see if you reviewed the item. Total respect to you, I appreciate everything you do thank you.
I think you are missing the point. Your review is for a $15K watch, which the Invicta is not. But 9 years later this watch keeps on ticking without any issues whatsoever. It is durable, reliable and very accurate. All for $50. If you want to make a fair comparison, the same watch is also offered with a swiss SW200 movement, which has been unreliable to say the least and costs over $200. Most owners would advise getting the NH35A version instead. For the money, it can't be beat. You can find it on Amazon as low as $36 shipped depending on sales and promotions. And it is totally worth it. Whether the movement is made in Malaysia or Japan makes absolutely no difference. Seiko is a global company and their quality controls are even across the board. It is like saying that a Toyota car made in the US is worse than one made in Japan. Not so.
Thank you for watching. "I think you are missing the point. Your review is for a $15K watch No, I give every watch I review a fair chance to meet my criteria "of being both excellent quality and excellent value at the respective price point". "the same watch is also offered with a swiss SW200 movement, which has been unreliable to say the least" You are mistaken, the Sellita SW200-1 is a reliable movement. "Most owners would advise getting the NH35A version instead." The SW200-1 is a higher grade of movement than the NH35A. Better QC, build quality, materials, and accuracy. "Whether the movement is made in Malaysia or Japan makes absolutely no difference." Agreed, NH35A movements are equal quality regardless of which Seiko plant they are made in. My point was Invicta are using the use of the Seiko NH35A as a selling point; as many collectors will assume the movement is made in Japan as its Seiko, rather than the reality of it being made in Malaysia which isn't a selling point. Collectors associate Seiko with Japan, not Malaysia. The market perception is that Japanese made means higher quality than Malaysian made. Hence Invicta engraving "Made in Maylasia" in small text on the case back, as they know it isn't a selling point as per "Made in Japan" would be. Same applies to Seiko themselves. Their Japan made watches have "Japan Made" on the dial at 6. Their Maylasian made watches don't have "Malaysian Made" on the dial at 6 as Seiko know this isn't a selling point due to the aforementioned market perception. Regards, #WR4K
It is not to defend undefeated, I share all the points you mentioned, but I think in its favor it would be important to emphasize at least that for that price you get a watch with a completely stainless steel case and bracelet, durable over time and that when worn can easily re-polished and restored, while the vast majority of watches in this price range ,including such a well-known brand as Casio, turn out to be zinc alloy with a very poor nickel plating, which soon tarnishes, and a Sometimes it is irreparable. (not to mention I've seen this same model for $60 or less)
Thank you for the suggestion. I would like to review the 31290; but unfortunately it is currently sold out. See link below. Regards. www.invictastores.eu/search/?zoeken=31290
I have the rotor without the yellow Invicta overlay. No engraving of "Malaysia" on it. I'm not sure why you insist on refuting its Japanese origin, as there are no physical markings to support this. @@watchreviews4k
@@theWZZA Invicta Pro Diver's are made in Malaysia. Therefore it is more cost effective to use NH35A movements that are made in Malaysia, versus more expensive NH35A movements imported from Japan. This means lower productive cost for Invicta, thus higher profit margin per piece. Regards, #WR4K
Thanks for the review, John, honest and to the point as always. For me the biggest negative of Invicta watches is that often many of the people who buy them seem to think that it is unacceptable to call out their pieces for what they really are: cheap and cheerful very low tier junk watches, but instead, apparently, these people seem to think that these lemons are even better than any Rolex piece.... go figure... I hope they refrain from their usual poison if and when they watch your review. Regards
Thank you for watching Mario. Often it's the case that the Invicta collector has been brainwashed by shilling on their chosen watch channel. Shills/social media influencers are very effective at influencing Invicta's target market their watches are excellent quality and value. The brands marketing methods are very effective; using shopping channels, and social media influencers to maximise sales revenue. I think Invicta is one of the most divisive brands with collectors either loving/hating the brand. Collectors that favour the brand are often very passionate and enthusiastic about it; taking any objective criticism of the brand as a personal insult. Unfortunately due to the aforementioned brainwashing by social media influencers, they are unable to look at an Invicta watch objectively and recognise the defects. Invicta know their target market very well; low income 18-30 year American males that feel insecure with low self esteem. They crave validation that their Invicta is OK to own. In buying one they become part of a fraternity of similar demographic loyal Invicta fanboys; ready to defend the brand from criticism at all costs. Regards.
Ummm, I have an 8927. It's bracelet is entirely stainless steel, and looks identical to the one in the video. It seems that WR4K never took a magnet to the clasp to prove that it was cheap steel. FWIW, my clasp is engraved "stainless steel". If the pro diver isn't good enough, spending 500 times its price will get you a watch that's perhaps twice as good. Finally, my NH35A looses about 4 seconds per day. Less if I wear it all day, more if I don't. My friend's Rolex is good to +/- 2 or 3 seconds per day, but he carefully winds it every night, even though it's "perpetual".
I don't own one yet, but i'm gonna buy twoo, actually. Because i'm brainwashed by every other review on the web. Compare a seiko mouvement with a quartz? Also 40mm, hand wind and hacking. Dude, sorry, but no. You can hate the brand, but be fair. Disliked.
Your missing the point totally, I bought mine on Amazon for £46 , I own several Seiko, 2 Tissot and a number of Chinese watches. Every time I wear the Invicta I get so many positive comments from people at work on the train etc. The point of owning a watch like this is what a company can make on a price point and is it ever worth spending the thousands on a Rolex ? Your review is totally negative of the watch and the brand, I was going to subscribe to your channel , but not now.

Thanks John for your honest review. I'm definitely not putting this on my wants list. There are better chinese dive watches that are cheaper, and thats saying something. Can one actually see the movement working? I will sumise this : A piece of junk!
Thank you for watching Mike. I am currently waiting for a Vostok Amphibia to be delivered from Russia. I paid 73 USD (£60) including shipping. I am hoping it arrives next week. That is a much better alternative; excellent quality and value for the price point. As I said in my review; I consider both the Casio Durio, and Vostok Amphibia, to be better (and less expensive) options. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
@@mikecambridge5493 Agreed, it's a beautiful piece. The movement is technically excellent. Zenith are a brand that don't get the respect they are due. They are both excellent watchmakers and movement makers. Often collectors forget Zenith movements were used in the early Daytona's, and Rolex used Aegler movements until 2004 when they acquired the brand. The El Primero movements really are a level above their price tier in quality. The problem with the Zenith brand is value retention. Jaeger-LeCoultre has a similar problem. Excellent movements, and brand heritage; but they just aren't desired by collectors; hence the poor value retention. However the positive of this is pre-owned the El Primero is excellent value; after the first owner has suffered the depreciation buying new. They are an iconic chronograph, like the Speedmaster, and Daytona. Another one you should consider is the Black Bay Chronograph, which uses an excellent Breitling B01 chronograph movement. Regards.
invictas are trash. I've bought 2 in the past year, both with the vaunted seiko movement yada yada yada.....absolute low quality chinese crap. save yourself a headache, go up a notch and get a seiko or timex auto diver.

Mine is perfect for rotation with my other Invictas and Seiko Prospex Samurai watches
All in all tho, nice review, one can also make their own assessment.
There are two versions of this pro diver one has a round bezel the other has a scalloped bezel
