Oh my gosh! I was at this concert! My French friends took me to a Wu Tang concert and I was like I you guys know about the Wu? That’s when it hit me how powerful foundational black American culture was.
French b-girl here. I was there too. Lots of French people of African descent grew up on hip hop. We were actually called the 2nd nation of hip hop during the golden age. All the major underground and mainstream artistes came performing to France (especially at that venue, Elysee Montmartre, even Black Thought rhymed about it in You Got me). Black Americans are definitely owed a great debt and it started way before hip hop🙏🏾
One of the best gigs they did.🔥🔥🔥 The whole crew tight, the fluidity between members, the choice of songs, the interaction with the crowd and obviously the crowd itself. (I don't expect less from my hometown, It's Wu Tang for fuck sake!)
