Boardgame - Attack Release 29th May 2024 - live machines and visuals set

The Boardgame duo consists of Keith Duncan, a skilled sound designer known for his wizardry in creating unique auditory experiences, and Sam Healy from North Atlantic Oscillation, a masterful musician. Together, they craft music that is truly one-of-a-kind, never to be replicated. Their performances are characterized by fully improvised, atmospheric electronica accompanied by custom visuals created through touch designer software.
It is important to note that their live shows are not typical DJ sets. Keith's processed vocalizations blend seamlessly with the sounds produced by his modular machines, creating a mesmerizing fusion with Sam's virtual synths. Each performance is a unique journey as no device ever produces the same sound twice. The combination of woozy pads, rhythmic beats, and glitchy arpeggiators work harmoniously to transport the audience into a state of weightlessness, akin to being in low earth orbit.
From this elevated perspective, the duo's emotive chords and intricate arrangements, which one would not expect from improvised music, suddenly become clear and coherent. The precision with which their music and visuals synchronize is remarkable, yet the element of unpredictability adds an exciting edge to their performances.
Everything is synchronised; nothing is predictable.
