0:42 in fact, if you listen to the song "Teachers" using headphones you will notice that both voices are separated on one side and on the other
The "ooshan" part made me laugh sm because the video of guyman parts
It's a very informative video, thanks
The Steam Machine voice effect is made with the Digitech Talker, using the 'Tazmania' preset on the pedal. Here a demonstration at the end: ua-cam.com/users/shorts3GWTwI8sZ6w
I have a actual VSM 201! It literally sounds the same. Also finally someone got the vocoder in RAM right!
what about The iconic get lucky robotics parts? its amazing and so magic i think we never gonna hear something like that again
I believe that is a duet of Thomas and Guy using the Sennheiser, as they’re credited on the album booklet, but many think it’s Pharrell
@@DaftPunkFromDiscovery It's Pharell's voice through a DigiTech Talker. The VSM-201 was however used for consonant/sibilant sounds.
@@DaftPunkFromDiscoveryits gotta be the robots doing the vocals, at the grammys when the voices started, they revealed themselves
@@Outmanoii2they also did that for the Grammys 2017 but that’s clearly the weeknd on a vocoder
4:16 Guy-Man's voices founded!
You are the nite you are the ooshan,
You are the lite BEYOND the clout 😢
1:06 lowkey a banger, the clip fit this one
I so love this timeline i wanna learn how to master vocoder one day they really inspired me for along time i miss them 😢
wtf this editing is so good, I mistook it for an official Daft Punk video at first
I love learning more about Daft Punk with your videos!
Video suggestion: all or some of Daft Punk featurings with other artists
Love your videos please never stop!
I just love guy man’s accent when he sings
for "Doin' it Right", They might have used the SVC 350 vocoder as well. I've seen demos of it and it sounds similar to the vocoder used in the song. It might have also been used in "Starboy" and "I Feel It Coming" by The Weeknd for the backing vocals.
thank you for this vid!! i was obsessed with the 2nd part of beyond and really wondered who sang it
I have a feeling that all the confirmed DP vocals are all just Thomas, even Beyond is just him at a different pitch. The impression I get from the memory tapes released last year was that Thomas was always the more hands on and Guy-Man was there indicating what worked and what didn't. Plus the fact that Fout La Merde only features Thomas is indication to me that Thomas was the vocoder master of the two. Either way great video!
Very informative great vid! 👏
one more time (I really love this channel)
I feel like the Daft Punk vocals in “I feel it coming” should’ve been included too
I wish you made a playlist of the songs that were in ur vids, you have good taste
ONE MORE TIME!
Good Job Bro
One more time
Nice 🙌🏼
very cool!! What about The Weeknd's "I feel it coming" ? they use something similar to RAM, I guess. But maybe you did this video before that song came out.
I think the Digitech Vocalist was the 'Studio' version, the rack unit.
Yup I think it went over my head while editing. Anyways thanks for the correction!
Awesome video, just wanted to point out that Guy has not had any vocal features on any of the albums, most of the lower pitched sections that were pointed out were just Thomas' voice, but played in a lower octave through the various vocoders! Hope that helps clear things up a bit!
nice video!
(wheres the best 10 seconds of every daft punk song with RAM10)
nice video!
(i have patience take as long as you like :) )
@@DaftPunkFromDiscovery based
seriously though i love your videos man

todas son una obra maestra!
one mour time
Mate, the way you make and edit your videos is awesome it makes them very special and entertaining as unique
Keep it up ;) ❤
Hi. You have a collection of Daft punk CDs or vinyl? If so, it would be cool to make a video about it
what is the song called in the beginning? sounds like a crydamoure song.
@@OiIersFan That's so nice to hear, thank you for watching as always =)
@@DaftPunkFromDiscovery no problem, it's a different kind of support for daft punk creators.
Well, if you look at RAM booklet, you'll notice that only Thomas has a vox processor, so technically Guy-Man shouldn't be able to sing any of the songs.
Well i want voice Of Human After all is so cool well for me
What about I feel it coming & starboy 🤔
What’s that song at the intro
What is the talkbox song at the end ?
Bro i need to know what your outro song is, it's so goofy
Just a quick question, what's the song in the beginning of the video?
Whats track playing start?
Apple Company or IOS Apps needs to create an actual Digitech Talker as a new Plugins than IVoxel based on VSM 201 someday!? ✊✊✊
Whats the very last song in the video?
Corrections;
Daft Punk didn't use a talk box on any vocals until RAM
1:44 - Daft Punk used a vocoder (the Ensoniq DP-4 multiFX unit's inbuilt vocoder) for Around the World. I can't speak to the validity of it being Thomas in that short video clip, but what we see him using is a vocoder not a talk box (and not the same vocoder used in Around the World).
2:42 - Using a vocoder on Romanthony's vocal makes no sense, as it would mask anything but his pronunciation in modulation over the carrier and negate his singing ability, even used in a layer. One More Time used AutoTune with the Ensoniq DP-4's phaser engaged, along with some heavy compression from the Alesis 3630 and harsh EQ to highpass the low end and boost the mids and treble.
2:54 - There is no AutoTune on Thomas's vocal in Digital Love. AutoTune's effect is produced by cranking the Retune Speed to its fastest value (0ms) and gives a telltale stair-stepping portamento that sounds like it's interrupted by the next pitch. Note that this does not occur in Digital Love, which has the robotic effect all along the vocal's sustain. This is simply achieved by playing the vocal melody on a MIDI controller (keyboard) linked to the Digitech Vocalist, making it force the vocal to follow whatever the keyboard plays. This is all you need for the effect. The same thing was done for the vocals in Something About Us.
3:16 - There's no way to know for certain whether the vocal in HBFS is Thomas or Guy, but given Guy's heavier accent and Thomas's better English pronunciation, I am betting it's actually Thomas. Once again, this is an example of the Ensoniq DP-4 multiFX unit's vocoder, just like on Around the World. It's possible they're using the same carrier, with slightly different EQ to sit the vocals into the mix. The Digitech Talker pedal wouldn't be used until Human After All
3:26 - There is no AutoTune on Todd Edward's voice. AutoTune has limited pitch tolerances (even when used conservatively) that wouldn't allow the variation in pitch present in Edwards's vocal in the song. The vocal effect is just doubling - Daft Punk had Edwards sing the vocal take from start to finish two times, and layered both takes and then panned them to create a stereo image.
I'm not confident in any further analysis for Human After All or RAM as I haven't listened much to either album and really only like Homework and Discovery.
Very interesting observations!
1- Looking at it closely, that video doesn’t show a talk box (I thought the mic was a tube)
2- Regarding One More Time, I would’ve thought Romanthony could’ve rerecorded his lines for a second audio track using the SVC-350.
But anyways thanks!
song at the beginning?
Whats the name of the first song?
computerized
Autotune?
I feel like the Daft Punk vocals in “I feel it coming” should’ve been included too
Feel free to correct me!
Well i don't know anything of the evolution of Robot voices asi que no dire nada es
Hey! In my humble opinion, I guess they made the background vocals in "Doin' it Right" with a vocoder. It sounds too harmonized and "boxy" for being a talkbox or a voice harmonizer, even autotune.
Okay
Thanks for the great video!😂
Please add Pharrell Williams' "Gust of Wind". So, they are participating as vocalists.
It's their last singing😢
@@discreetmusic6229 I'm very positive the robot vocals in Gust of Wind are Pharrell; pitch it up and you can hear him
