Her Urdu short story 'Lihaaf' or 'The Quilt' (1942) was a groundbreaking work that featured patterns of female sexuality and lesbianism, the likes of which hadn't been seen so openly in Urdu literature, especially by a female writer.

अहोभाग्यम!!!! इस्मत चुगताई जितनी बेबाक़ी से लिखती थी उतनी ही प्यारी उनकी बातें 👌👌👌👌। कितना अच्छा लगता है इन लोगों के बारे में जानकर। युगनारी थी वे जिनकी सोच समय से पहले की थी। नमन आपा की पुण्य स्मृति को। आँखें नम हो गईं 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

And she gave a message to become independent to all woman !
Oye foolish, in Islam burqa is not a means of imprisoning women, it's only a means of their safety and protection, the way a very precious thing is kept with Care, just like this is the example of burqa. My Favorite Author...
Her Novel "Ajeeb Aadmi" was based on the love triangle among Gurudutt ( Dharam dev), Geeta Dutt ( Mangala) and Waheeda Rehman ( Zareena). Film "Bali" in the novel is actually film "Baazi". "Hotel mein cabaret" song is "Tadbeer se bigdi hui Taqdeer bana le" from Baazi... The characters "Rita" and "Rummy" as per my guess are Gita Bali and Shammi kapoor . The whole episode of Waheeda refusing to wearing a revealing dress in her debut film CID is mentioned in detail which she has only acknowledged publicly in her recent interviews. An amazingly written book in typical Ismat style.
And what a fascinating feeling to hear from someone who is talking about Kishore Kumar as a young boy
