The caller is right. Your silence on the Gaza genocide speaks volumes about how little you value the lives of Palestinians being ruthlessly murdered by Israel with US WEAPONS. David, I think what people are upset about can be attributed to your relative silence on the topic week over week. As you would no doubt agree, having high media literacy means paying attention to what the media (including independent) reports on and chooses NOT to report on. I mean I wouldn’t heckle someone that’s all about animal rights for not covering human trafficking.
He says it’s obvious he’s against bombing… I unsubbed him years ago because he defended Israel bombing Palestinians.
At that time the bombing killed hundreds resulting in the death of mostly children. People criticized Israel and asked why David had not and his defense was that hundreds of Israelis would have died if it wasn’t for Iron Dome so it’s basically self defense.
He then went on to post another video explaining why Israel was such a good country and basically made a pro Israel travel video based off of his recent visit.
Seems like a defining moment in history with the mass murder of 14k children, total destruction of all the hospitals and 75% of the buildings mass starvation of millions. But lets talk about Trump, Ukraine and dating apps.

This domestic news channel seemed perfectly able to cover war crimes committed by Hamas on and surrounding Oct 7th, weird that you find yourself unable to cover Israeli war crimes committed since the 7th.
Also, the idea that Biden’s policy on this doesn’t affect domestic politic seems obviously incorrect.
I would expect any compassionate person in your position to very easily be able to condemn an ongoing genocide, and to use their platform to push for a ceasefire. An unwillingness or inability to do so is incredibly disappointing to see from anyone who considers themselves on the left.

Well, David was relatively quiet on Ethiopia, Sudan, Yemen. Especially Yemen, where the US has directly supported Saudi ops -- I think he's only had a few videos over the last 10 years. I would say he tends to reserve videos on foreign wars for when the story involves the US. But I'd like to see him make more videos on Israel, because there is a huge group of young leftists becoming single-issue voters and refusing to vote for Biden due to the war.

I made the argument that it was foolish to abstain from voting simply because you did not agree politically with either candidate, because on nearly every issue you could fathom, from economic and social policy, to immigration and health care, Biden was better than Trump by a very clear margin. You may not have liked Biden as a presidential candidate but, as you said, we have a binary choice in this country, one of these men will be president and you chose the lesser of two evils. The issue of the war in Gaza is different. Unlike in 2020, it is difficult to make the argument that Biden's position on Israel and the United states continued support would be much better than Trump. Biden may be complicit in supporting genocide. This is a serious idea not just morally but for the very fabric of our society. He is violating both domestic and international law and could be brought up on charges in the ICJ, however unlikely it would be for a US president to be put in that position. If the war in Gaza is a serious issue for you, as i know it is for many Americans, especially Muslim Americans, then it is perfectly reasonable to not want to support either presidentially candidate. To be clear, I am going to vote for Biden again, mostly because I dread what would become of this country if Trump were made president again, but I can not rationally argue against a citizen who is abstaining from voting in this election on these moral grounds. I think it is a very reasonable position to have. And i would also make the argument that if Biden's reelection is so important for so many democrats, why insist that the president risk our democracy to support a far-right neo-fascist government that is obviously violating international law.
I don't think it washes at all to say that this is a domestic politics programme. There's been so many videos on this channel relating to Ukraine and the US' role there, including one yesterday and even a mention in this video. David may not have openly condoned what the IDF are doing but the only mention of the issue in the last few months has been about people criticising him, not the issue itself. To refuse to condemn an ally of the US committing a genocide on a political commentary channel is not good at all.

You recently posted a video saying that we should stop watching network news because of their agenda and get all our coverage from independent outlets like yours, but if I did that I would have had no information about a genocide currently taking place. It’s clearly not an accident that you have not covered Gaza in 4 months, it’s an enormous story both internationally and in terms of how American politicians are reacting.
I’m an ardent viewer for 6 years but I must say, I’m very disappointed in how you’ve turned away on this important issue. Friends of the show like Sam Seder and Cenk have been passionate about using their platforms to call out the ethnic cleansing taking place. I think for a lot of people it's not what you directly said, but more they feel you implied by supporting a decision or action the administration is taking. I'm not saying one way or another you did or didn't. But that's likely the more realistic thing they're taking away. Remember perception to a lot of people is truth. Regardless of if it's accurate perception, they believe it. It's hard to sway someone once they believe something because we as humans don't want to be wrong or have our beliefs disproven.
This whole situation is very complex and has no easy solution. It’s so sad when people don’t understand just how complicated this situation is.

My own impression is that the conflict in Gaza is a topic you generally avoid. Fine, your choice. Since my own view is that the conflict involves intentional ethnic cleansing with active American support, the relative lack of coverage becomes an editorial statement. This has not led me to cancel you, but I do watch less often and have lost a good deal of trust.

David I watch your show because you are honest and provide factual information to every show. I don't understand what's going on with people who are unsubscribing. It's like they're just pissed off at the world and need someone to blame or say hateful things that aren't accurate.
I've had conversations with my 23 yr old son who's in school at a University here in Oregon and he said nearly the same thing about President Biden and accusing him of making terrible decisions in regards to Israel and the Hamas war. I explained to him that Biden is sending aid to Gaza and the Palestinians even though he knows it may get stolen by the Hamas. I explained also that we still have US citizens being held hostage and President Biden is doing everything possible to get the released safely without going in with our own military.
Don't let these folks get you down because they obviously don't trust much of what they hear.

Politics have become so tribal for so many people, you don't have to say this or that. All they see is left and right, black and white, good vs evil.
