Democrats compelling speech because of the atheist humanist gender faith is a violation of our constitutional right to free speech and practice religion.
The Constitution also states that a state a state cannot make a law depriving a person a person to the right to life liberty and property without due process.
It's proven by the scientific method that life begins at conception. A human fetus is a human being and a human being is a person. Selective abortion is a violation of the constitutional right to life.
So far we have the Democrats creating laws violating out right to free speech practice religion and the right to life. They also create laws infringing on our right to bear arms.
It's the Democrats who are a threat to this constitutional republic the Democrats and their army of tens of millions of illegal Invaders which they use to steal approximately 30 House seats along with weaponizing the census bureau.
America like all of modern western civilization was built by christians, if you don't like our culture customs and traditions you should leave Western civilization. We have a right to our own culture customs traditions and laws just like everybody else..

The equal rights for all humans thing really bothers me because of what it actually means. It's a pathway to fetal personhood laws. They're always saying that an embryo or fetus is a separate being so it deserves autonomy. Which is physically untrue. But for the sake of giving a fetus bodily autonomy it takes it from the woman. So it's basically their way of saying women aren't human. Or at least not fully human. As a woman it's pretty scary to hear that
A fetus can have its autonomy, but if the woman wants to take it out of her body because of her autonomy, the fetus will still have its autonomy. If it won't survive, that doesn't violate its autonomy.

If it requires my body to sustain then it does not classify as a separate being. And even if it is that ain't my problem. For the same reason that if someone needs my kidney to live, it is not my obligation to give them my kidney

Lady, it is because, since a fetus is a person, it deserves protection. It has little to do with autonomy. The arguement is that the fetus and the woman matter equally, so the life of the fetus matters more than the woman not getting pregnent. The woman only loses a part of her life. (In a sense, with the stress and pain that pregnancy brings) The fetus loses all of it.

To be fair, yes, I am convinced that they will teach _some_ things worth knowing. Just definitely nothing that contradicts their ideology or religion, and all too likely nothing that they consider to be "useless" (anything in the direction of arts comes to mind... afterall, you can train select people in dishonest editing techniques and all that on the job, no need for a college education for any of that...)

The island metaphor is correct. Like Carl Sagen said there are billions and billions of galaxies and each galaxy has billions and billions of stars. The laws of science that created us have certainly, by the laws of statistics and probability, created others, intelligent, sentient life that will create signals, like we do, that we should have detected by now but haven't. It's not just improbable that we haven't heard from anyone, it's scientifically impossible. You and I are a scientific and mathematical impossibly.

Not the math itself. I looked into it, and its just confusing to me. It seems to add extra steps for no reason.
Why are they teaching math this way?
The point of CC math was to teach number sense rather than just procedural algorithms. In some cases, the methods used are less efficient, but they emphasize the logic behind the math better. Most traditional math education, specifically pen and paper calculation, was made obsolete by having a calculator in all our pockets. Taught right, I think the new standards are much better.
It's also worth noting that a lot of the most complained-about new methods (at least as of when I was teaching math) come from the purchased curricula schools make us use, not the standards themselves.
I've seen a lot of different curriculum. Both myself and my wife are teachers, plus we've had two kids go through public schools over the last 20 years.
IMO, one problem when you just jump into nearly any level of a curriculum is that the language and processes used in the curriculum have already been presented and established at earlier points. So if you're looking at some basic math from a third grade curriculum, the language and processes might seem to not make sense. That can be confusing, because we're supposed to be able to do 3rd grade math.
I'd agree with the other person who responded about the effectiveness of most curricula when taught correctly. I think ultimately, the idea is to build a lot of supporting knowledge so that the learner has a deeper understanding of what is happening when they are doing math. As opposed to training students to do rote calculation.
