CORNWALL'S SPECTACULAR AVIATION MUSEUM LOST FOREVER

- Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre in Newquay, Cornwall is now closed, forever.
Sadly, Cornwall Council has other plans for the site, although I can't imagine what would be better than having an aviation museum that promotes education and wellbeing, especially for young people, next to the airport.
I was asked to make a video that would help with fundraising for the relocation plan, an opportunity I jumped at. A private investor had put a million pounds into the pot and for a while, things were looking hopeful. I saw the drawings of the proposed new site, the buildings, the education facilities etc. and it was absolutely top notch. I have no doubt it would have attracted many tourists and enthusiasts from far and wide. I also have no doubt that it would have been an amazing facility for supporting people with life and learning challenges.
Unfortunately I was unable to finish the film I intended to make, but I did manage to shoot this footage just a matter of days before the final evacuation. I felt that a dramatic and slightly sinister edit might be appropriate, while still respecting the magnificence of these aviation treasures.
I had the pleasure of volunteering at the museum after hiring the BA1-11 for a film shoot in 2021. It was truly a special place with many hardworking and knowledgeable volunteers, not to mention an outstanding collection of planes and other exhibits, and will be missed very much.
I hope you enjoy this memory. ✈️

Such a shame. Went there last year and it was great to walk around for a few hours, and the staff were brilliant.
To think that every aircraft was built in the UK. Losing CAHC is unforgivable.
Couldn't agree more
Very atmospheric, great video
Thank you so much 😊
I think it was inexcusable for the Museum to be disbanded/ closed. A wonderful attraction has been lost to Cornwall and its residents . Irreplaceable of course . In years to come there will doubtless be comments like "if only...." and "what if....?". All too late now , but heartbreaking to think of the VC-10 and BAC 1-11 being turned into scrap.Nothing short of vandalism by the CCC and Cornwall Airport Authority.
Such a shame, Cornwall Council couldn't offer me any explanation for evicting CAHC other than they just didn't like it.
I guess we’ll never find out the whole truth, but it is extraordinary behaviour.
@@6ixbfilm why havent you sent a tractor full of manure tho their Council building yet? Those muck spreaders have some range on them
