I love the part about making cubing into a science experiment. I totally do the same thing with multiBLD, by keeping track of all the variables in my day around each attempt. It makes it all that much more fun and interesting
Jake and I pretty much just take enjoyment from the science aspect of it nowadays haha. The actual solving cube part is boring :p

That is the approach I take on every competition! and not only because I have no chance to win anyway :) But learning, improving, meeting is all the competition is about. If Pierre de Coubertin would be alive today, he would be much more proud of the speedcubing worlds then olympics :)

You're one of the best IMO - and that's regardless of how you do at any one competition. You have amazing talent, have worked hard at hiking your skill, make amazingly helpful videos and promote thinking differently in cubing rather than going with the herd.
No matter what, you are a legend, so don't let that legend hold you back ;)

My initial impression of you was basically “oh, that guy who choked in the second round of worlds.” Jk, I know that was meant to happen and it’s just a step in your journey. Good luck at worlds and slay some solves!
I suggest wearing headphones with ambient noise while solving and try to recreate a comp environment. this way your body gets uses to being under pressure.

You could chill out, not think about anything, make sure the trip to Australia is a blast rather than a pressure builder and who knows, you might end up being the world champ. After all during these big comps it's all about the times you spend with everyone rather than the times you get. Hope you do great and have fun! I know you can win :)
