David Ayer’s is one of the best Movie producers of all time, he brings the realness to his movies by including today’s culture in his movies, all his Movies have real street credit.
When Ayer said ,"Ya esta la cosa!" I laughed my ass so hard and gave this man more respect. As a fellow Angelino I now guys like Ayer, who grew up in the street life. He's a real one for sure! 💪
Such a great director and interesting person. Thank you for this podcast. It's great to get to know him better after all the years I've been fan boying his work!
David Ayer was really in them trenches hence the contacts pauses when Jon asked him questions about his experience in south central. David definitely did some things he really can’t divulge on camera
it's just a social construct like the vocal fry thing - using a lot of analogies makes it easier for people to relate to you. in the past people wanted to convey ideas they didn't care if you empathised/idolised them.
I'm glad you caught that, my dad was a court stenographer, I grew up learning proper grammar, spelling, speed reading, and these tools allow me to sound intelligent. Funny, there's no law against a pause to collect or gather a new thought, then speaking, "like" is used as that transitional vehicle...to me, it indicates intellectual laziness and lack of self-awareness
I was going to watch this but if you don't care enough to move your hand so we can hear you and the guest won't get up on the microphone then I will listen to someone that will. Not being a dick just saying
This Ayer dude is kinda corny… I appreciate his work, but these California kids are so weird. Only there can you play hard for a few years so you can then use it to become a movie star later. Just a different world out there…
The 80s and 90s where super active, this generation will never understand what it was like being a kid / teen in Los Angeles and other cities during those years. only the strongest survived the madness CMR Paz !!
I've been a fan since 2005 Harsh times. Then I found out he wrote fast and furious and training day ....David ayer is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME
Lolol far from the greatest of all time. He's made a couple good films. One great one. And a fee really trash films
@Horsemanray he's wearing regular clothes. You're upset, your parents hurt you. Not david ayer
I always saw End of Watch as the spiritual sequel to Harsh Times, but Jim and Mike just made better decisions.

Ayer's vibe is so unique in the movie-making space
100%... he's not one of the hipster, entitled, all-mighty people that work in the business.... Ayer is real. He's an outsider.

Adding "not being a dick" doesn't change the fact you are being a dick.
