Something i dont think mentioned in the vid that is a useful tip you'll notice he does every so often is moving backward when he needs too. When your screen is horizontal, as long as your character is on the screen you'll be okay.

Another advice should be that it’s ok to turn back, for exemple if there are no logs in front of you but you still have time to go backwards.
