So things with this episode. A lot of people get confused when other people seem to hear great sages voice announcing gelds assencion to demon lord but thats not great sage, its the "voice of the world" which announces stuff like that, usually to an individual person when they gain a new skill. The reason it sounds the same is because when great sage was created as a skill for rimuru by his pre death wishes it didnt have a voice function to it and it took I think a whole month for it to incorportate the voice of the world into itself and fully come online, before that it was just rimuru in silence alone. So anytime you hear the "great sage voice" and other people hear it thats the voice of the world.
I really love auto battle mode as an example of how rimuru could fight with his current powers if he was fighting perfectly by just letting great sage take over. I especially love the control you see great sage exhibit with the black flame engulfed sword as well as maintining some flame burning where she cut geld to stop him regening his arm.
In the light novel Rimuru also goes over in his head how his underlings inherited various skills from him in incomplete or lesser versions, like shuna getting a more generic analysing skill while rimuru has great sage, but that each of them are far better at using them than him.
Theres also a line I like about how a computer will fight based on odds and probabilty, looking for the most optimal solution while shaving away redundancy, while rimuru is a big ball of ineddiciency with a deliberately incomplete thought process and that thats why he and great sage make a great pairing, covering for each others weaknesses.
The sun rising at the end is the only way you can tell that the battle of who would eat who lasted for literal hours before rimuru finally won.
