  • In this video we learn to create a simple grid that can be displayed on screen. With only a simple script that is simply a few lines of code, an incredibly useful and nice-looking grid can be created.

Great video! Could end up being a useful tool even if someone's not making a Mario Maker-style game. =) (And thanks for doing the vid in GMS2!)

Can this be used to draw a grid of varying size boxes: working on a game called quoridor. It’s played on a 9x9 grid but walls are places between spaces so my idea was to have alternating size rectangles. One that the player moves on and a smaller rectangle box between spaces

I'm a beginner so I don't really know much, but is there a way to only display it while an event is happening (or in other words, have an erase function)?

Why not paste the code in the description so we don't have to type it ourselves?

Watching someone else type the code then typing it yourself can help you remember and learn it.
