The current Islamic world we live in is very similar to the world which Salahudin was in, attempting to unite the different, waring, suspicious factions under one banner. His uniting of the different elements of the Islamic world is perhaps an even greater achievement than the conquest of Jeruselum.
Alhamdulillah. I have the biography of Salah-ud-Deen by Dr. Ali M Sallabi. I suggest everyone to read it. How everything came together is much deeper than what most people are willing to talk about. I have recently rec9gn8zed some of the errors of the west by creating g sort of "bullet proof" " rosy" versions of the fast which by the way words are at all not doing justice to what I am trying g to ex0ress. By that I mean I had never been exposed to th8s style of let's tell everyth8n and then the reader/ listener come to thir own conclision........
@@pebystroll All those personalities belong to different categories. Timur and Chengis (Temujin) were hellbent on killing & destruction. They both shared a similar Mongol-Turkic heritage from the Asian Steppes. Napoleon and Charlemagne were a thousand years apart. They both tried to unify Europe, but on their own terms and timelines. As far as we know Salahuddin was neither destructive, nor was he repressive & power hungry.

I agree with Dr Abdur Rahman Azzam when it comes to the portrayal of Salahedinne in modern times. He is often seen as this legendary general and leader. Even though I regard him as someone of a high moral character; when you look at the reality, there are more capable and successful leaders/generals in Islamic history. In the end, Salahedinne did not succeed in removing the crusaders from the region. On the point of the golden age. First and foremost, as a muslim, the golden age of Islam happened during the reign of Umar ibn Khattab. You can see the contrast between Salahedinne’s time and that of the companions of the prophet. Where the companions of Salahedinne became weary of war, the sahaba did not whilst the latter faced far worse odds. It goes to show that the companions of the prophet are really a special generation. May Allah reward them with the best of rewards. Lastly, I think the time we live in nowadays is not so dissimilar to the previous ages. We have liberalism that holds the most dominant position politically and economically. But to say that this ideology is not based in transcendent principles is not entirely correct. The framework in which liberalism operates is based on foundations that are based in metaphysics. The reality is that when practised, liberalism shows it many flaws and contradictions. The believer should always remain optimistic. During the last few decades we have seen a resurgence of Islam. Particularly when it comes to young men. Insha’Allah we can create the circumstances (with Allah’s help) to generate leaders that will revive the Ummah.

Saladin conquered Jerusalem by first uniting the Muslim community through educational and political measures. He established madrassahs and worked to remove internal divisions, making the Muslim world stronger. Then, he secured support in regions like Syria and Egypt before capturing Jerusalem. This approach strengthened the Muslim ummah and allowed him to successfully conquer the city.
I agree with the opinion that most secular historians are strongly opposed to associating the nature and actions of Salahuddin with Islam or Prophet Muhammad. Sometimes, I even feel that they are quite displeased with the fact that Salahuddin had a religion. It seems they would be happier if he were an atheist.
35:06 An addition, not only Muslims & Jews, the Crusaders also didn't spared their kin i.e. the Christians of Eastern rite, just like the Western evangelists are throwing the Arab Christians particularly the Palestinian Christians under the bus just to for the prophecy of the Last Hour to come true. It is important to protest the bad actions of the ruler Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will have rulers some of whom you approve and some of whom you will disapprove. He who dislikes them will be safe, and he who expresses disapproval will be safe, but he who is pleased and follows them (will be indeed sinful)". His audience asked: "Shall we not fight them?" He replied, "No, as long as they establish Salat amongst you". [Raidus Salehin: 1 88]
The Doctor made a small mistake in 16:38. The madhab disputes in that particular time mentioned was between the Hanafis and the Shafiis and not the Hanbalis and the Shafiis.
We always take about salah aldin but in reality it was not a one great man but it was one great ummah and everyone played a role soldiers and scholars and mothers who raised great men

I'm kurdish too but don't turn this into nationalism and no muslims haven't done such thing, it was western powers who tore apart muslims from power and turned them into countries from caliphate, planted seeds of warfare and hatred between muslim nations like the split of kurdish lands into four parts and this is just one example. Also people from all places, nations, tribes have made their mark of contributing to islam

Could you make a video on alMalik alDhahir Baybars? One of the greatest commanders/strategists, but also one of the greatest statesmen and administrators. (Unlike Salahudin, as mentioned at 1:08:30, though Baybars was far more ruthless/less chivalric) Creating the most professional army on earth at the time, perhaps in all of human history up to that point. And proved his skill by defeating the Mongols, a far greater for than Salahudin faced, whilst also dealing an immense blow to the crusaders. Administratively he strengthened the unity of sunni islam through his 4 madhhab system. and made Egypt-Syria more united than ever before. As well as many other major reforms All while being a slave from the distant Cuman-Kipchak steppe..... I've also heard, that before Europeans popularized Salahudin in the middle east, Baybars was far more popular.

Khalid ibnu Walid was a better military strategist and tactician than Salahuddin. In most battles against the Persians and the Byzantines, Khalid forces were outnumbered while Salahuddin forces always enjoy numerical superiority against the Crusaders forces. But of course, Khalid was not a statesman.

Unifying the leadership of Muslims in the Grand Mosque after Muslims were dispersed in prayer for the four imams of jurisprudence during the time of the Ottoman Empire. 2. Restoring security in the Arabian Peninsula after tribes were warring among themselves, as well as the persecution inflicted on the Arabs by the Ottoman Turks, as well as the killing of pilgrims due to the lack of a strong state even during the time of the Ottoman Sultanate. 3. Educating the Bedouins after they were ordered to settle in villages. This was a historical moment in the interest in education after they were neglected by the Ottoman Empire. 4. Demolish the shrines that were built in the last three hundred years and return the Arabs to the Islamic monotheism in which the Prophet Muhammad and his companions believed. 5. Building a strong Arab state after the Arab division and fragmentation after the fall of the Abbasid state and the failure of the Great Arab Revolt by Sharif Hussein.
Easy times create weak men. Weak men leave terrible and hard history. Hard times create strong men, and strong men create civilizations. We are in hard times, look out for the next Salahdin and Khalid.
I don’t like the way he adds fuel to the fire by subtle Turk and Kurd division very unislamic in my opinion, although it may seem like he is making a point i sense malicious intentions, and another thing is that Selahaddin is not a kurdish for certain there are other opinions that are based by historical evidence which should be brought to the table especially by a true honest historian.( i don’t think Selahaddins race has any importance personally, to mention an uncertainty with certainty and adding hate among two tribes is a red flag, we as muslims must recognize this instantly)
Salahuddin didn't rise from nothing. Let a generation or two focus on education and commerce, and there will rise many Salahuddin. Meanwhile, buy peace if you must.

Be careful what we wish for, a modern Salahhuddin would need to break quite a few eggs to make the omelette that is unifying Egypt and Shams 😬 But as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. In our current context, political unification may be better (and more safely) achieved through diplomatic and financial leverage as the Gulf states and Turkey are attempting now. In fact, the GCC nations are not only gaining influence in territories of the former Caliphates, but also for the first time in Europe and America. Maybe their leaders may not be islamically ideal to us, but remember that what they build will InshaAllah outlast them. Salahuddin Al-Ayubi himself inherited a kingdom built by his predecessors, and it may be that our future Salahuddin will inherit what will be built by the current rulers. Wallahualam.

Sir,Salahuddin was a Kurd muslim warrior. In 21st century there are no warriors only politicians and army generals as presidents engaged in internecine conflicts. The center of Arab religion is S Arab and Jerusalem is under the control of Israel.
Assuming there is a single unified state of Palestine and Israel, Palesrael, will the Muslims be prepared to share al Quds with the Jews? Meaning if the Jews want to build a third temple on the site or within the precincts of al Quds will the Muslims allow this?

I agree with the opinion that most secular historians are strongly opposed to associating the nature and actions of Salahuddin with Islam or Prophet Muhammad. Sometimes, I even feel that they are quite displeased with the fact that Salahuddin had a religion. It seems they would be happier if he were an atheist.

The Doctor made a small mistake in 16:38. The madhab disputes in that particular time mentioned was between the Hanafis and the Shafiis and not the Hanbalis and the Shafiis.

I'm kurdish too but don't turn this into nationalism and no muslims haven't done such thing, it was western powers who tore apart muslims from power and turned them into countries from caliphate, planted seeds of warfare and hatred between muslim nations like the split of kurdish lands into four parts and this is just one example.

Interesting observation about fragmentation as a force in Islam. I believe that makes sense not only because of the size of the empire but also because of the geography of the region.

One of the greatest commanders/strategists, but also one of the greatest statesmen and administrators. (Unlike Salahudin, as mentioned at 1:08:30, though Baybars was far more ruthless/less chivalric)
Creating the most professional army on earth at the time, perhaps in all of human history up to that point.
And proved his skill by defeating the Mongols, a far greater for than Salahudin faced, whilst also dealing an immense blow to the crusaders.
Administratively he strengthened the unity of sunni islam through his 4 madhhab system. and made Egypt-Syria more united than ever before.
As well as many other major reforms
All while being a slave from the distant Cuman-Kipchak steppe.....
I've also heard, that before Europeans popularized Salahudin in the middle east, Baybars was far more popular.

Khalid ibnu Walid was a better military strategist and tactician than Salahuddin. In most battles against the Persians and the Byzantines, Khalid forces were outnumbered while Salahuddin forces always enjoy numerical superiority against the Crusaders forces.
But of course, Khalid was not a statesman.

1. Unifying the leadership of Muslims in the Grand Mosque after Muslims were dispersed in prayer for the four imams of jurisprudence during the time of the Ottoman Empire.
2. Restoring security in the Arabian Peninsula after tribes were warring among themselves, as well as the persecution inflicted on the Arabs by the Ottoman Turks, as well as the killing of pilgrims due to the lack of a strong state even during the time of the Ottoman Sultanate.
3. Educating the Bedouins after they were ordered to settle in villages. This was a historical moment in the interest in education after they were neglected by the Ottoman Empire.
4. Demolish the shrines that were built in the last three hundred years and return the Arabs to the Islamic monotheism in which the Prophet Muhammad and his companions believed.
5. Building a strong Arab state after the Arab division and fragmentation after the fall of the Abbasid state and the failure of the Great Arab Revolt by Sharif Hussein.
Easy times create weak men. Weak men leave terrible and hard history. Hard times create strong men, and strong men create civilizations.
We are in hard times, look out for the next Salahdin and Khalid.
I don’t like the way he adds fuel to the fire by subtle Turk and Kurd division very unislamic in my opinion, although it may seem like he is making a point i sense malicious intentions, and another thing is that Selahaddin is not a kurdish for certain there are other opinions that are based by historical evidence which should be brought to the table especially by a true honest historian.( i don’t think Selahaddins race has any importance personally, to mention an uncertainty with certainty and adding hate among two tribes is a red flag, we as muslims must recognize this instantly)
Salahuddin didn't rise from nothing. Let a generation or two focus on education and commerce, and there will rise many Salahuddin. Meanwhile, buy peace if you must.

But as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. In our current context, political unification may be better (and more safely) achieved through diplomatic and financial leverage as the Gulf states and Turkey are attempting now.
In fact, the GCC nations are not only gaining influence in territories of the former Caliphates, but also for the first time in Europe and America.
Maybe their leaders may not be islamically ideal to us, but remember that what they build will InshaAllah outlast them.
Salahuddin Al-Ayubi himself inherited a kingdom built by his predecessors, and it may be that our future Salahuddin will inherit what will be built by the current rulers. Wallahualam.
