UPDATE/FACT CHECK: Zac said on Pulp/MX he is not going to race a Club MX bike. He said he didn’t feel he could go a full moto and safely ride at the pace necessary. He said it was a safety consideration.
It would seem useless to spend that much money and not use it for what it is. Wonder who can spend that much money for a private personal track. Maybe he should just keep it.
What do you mean, Couch, why...? Did Barcia himself put that stipulation in the 'fine print', or was it neighbors and therfore the state/county that won't allow it to be turned into a training facility due to noise and stuff? Idk where he lives and how far away the nearest neighbor is from him, but sound carries, especially the 4 strokes and we all know how neighbors enjoy shutting tracks and riding areas down...even when they build/move near a track that was there long before development around it ever started, which is asinine, they knew what they were moving next to and still made the decision to do it, so they shouldn't complain...but if we can keep dust down with water, that's where electric will both build and save the sport (from moto, single track, fmx, etc), particularly on a local grass roots level.. i know a lot of states and their various counties require different/more permits than others to build or do different things on the land an individual owns (luckily for me i own land in oklahoma, taxes are cheap on land, it's a lot easier to build/do things, and my neighbors are all chill as hell. i just agreed to not ride on weekend mornings until a certain time so I don't wake them up, and then stop at certain time during the week, which I'm usually done long befire then anyways . I've had no issues. it helps to work with those around you. Although, in places like California, i doubt that helps) potential liability can be worse in different areas of the country, etc...but in my opinion that makes no sense coming from Justin. To me, that almost makes it seem like he wants to continue having some sort of control over something that'd no longer belong to him at that point... it'd have great dirt, including dirt that was brought in similar to what Stew did, it'd have all the equipment needed for the tracks, water truck/pond to pump from, a gym, shop space for bikes...and the available land to build more tracks, race shops, and living quarters in order to provide an ultimate training facility for all ages and skill levels, or even a team, similar to what Aldon Baker and KTM did. An even better example would be ClubMx Yamaha...It shouldn't matter one bit to Justin what someone else wants to do with it, especially if it helps him sell it for the price he's asking.. If it sells to a non-moto guy, which becomes more likely with those stipulations, then a lot of that on the land will bring the value down or they'll want to pay less because it'd cost a whole lot of time and money to remove the tracks, level it all, and then reseed the grass... cause to a lot of people, what we see as a beautiful work of art when looking at a prepped track with chocolate cake for dirt, they percieve as an eye sore...And what's the definition of 'training facility', that's a very broad statement. What if a young pro buys it to train on with a couple other riders riding with him? Or what if i bought it and use it for training at a high amateur level, or just to get better without the intention to go pro? That's still technically a training facility, if you ask me.. it's just not a private facility available to the public for a fee...and It's not like he'd be held liable for anything if something were to happen, cause he would no longer own it at that point... I could understand having that stipulation if he were to lease it or something, cause then he would be held liable if someone got injured or potentially died, but he's selling... and a lot of times those waivers don't protect track owners... which is another reason why tracks get shut down. A really cool local track near Guthrie Oklahoma, after only being open for a coupoe years and becoming more popular, one guy randomly showed up when they werent open/no one was there to take their money snd provide a waiver (it was at someones home, so if they were home, you could ride even if it wasn't a scheduled day) , unloaded his bike, sent the big step up without a single sight lap, went directly into a Dozer that was left at the top of the landing, breaking his femur in multiple spots, and he somehow sued and won...what happened to illegally trespassing and being responsible for our individual decisions? He had to lay there for hours, which after what he did, he kinda deserved it in hindsight. It absolutely ruined that owner. He had to sell his home, land, everything... he was a really nice guy. Anyway, sorry for the rant, a lot of it was off topic (curse my adhd) but if you could shed some potential light on that, it would be interesting.
I don’t understand wearing Less and less protection.. especially not using full wrap hand guards in the woods.. I’ve never raced a harescramble without some cycra probends. Ive never mashed my fingers or been hurt from them. They have saved me, presumably tens of times at least.
I had mine off for a bit and sure enough. Blam ! Fucking jibbed a tree while accelerating out of a turn due to a root blipping me out of the line. Same scenario you would normally be thinking how sketchy it was put me out. It hurt so bad having fingers smashed instead of a usual break. My wraps are back on needless to say.
@@throttlebuff see I got out of racing harescrambles consistently around 2012-13. It was starting to be a pro trend I noticed then. Going back to pre 2010 posters I have, all the guys like Barry hawk, Josh strang, etc etc all ran full wrap. I can’t get good answers as to why they quit using them.. I have to much bark in the screw heads on my bark busters to take them off lol
I think they should go more of a foam route (check out 509's R-More Protective vest) I see that being better than conventional plastic / rigid models. Air is still a good idea👍
There are NO chest protectors that’s can prevent broken clavicles during a crash. It’s impossible for any chest protector to prevent or even mitigate broken clavicles in a crash
Calling them chest protectors is silly to me. They are roost deflectors. They don't really protect you in a crash. I have had them rip off in a crash and also the plastic break.
I had a great idea last year: Bubble wrap riding gear. I kept it quiet, because I was going to create my own line of breathable bubble wrap riding gear. Now that it's now patented, there you go. I'm now ready to license it anyone who wants to pay $$$. Ando, I know you follow Johnny. Good investment. 😁😁
Going to be pretty muddy there Saturday morning Kenny could win the first Moto because Sexton might be visiting the ground a few times, then I think by the time the second motor rolls around Sexton will regain his brain 🤷
What's up with that RV in your thumbnaiI, thought you purchased a new RV and was looking for it in your post, then I realized you were talking about Ryan Villopoto. 😂
If you fall with your arms out to catch yourself you can break your collarbone, so I might bet that impacts are not the major cause with broken collarbones having broken both of mine. So not sure any armor or air bag system would help there, but I'm no professional, just going off of what I've learned from my personal experiences.
C class rider so take this with a grain of salt, but I think pro are wearing less protective equipment such as neck braces or shoulder pads, because you want to body to be able to flex and bend like the body was designed instead of making the body more ridged which would lead to more breaks and tears and worse injuries
I think it has more to do with the visibility of their sponsors logos. Also it's just the current fad. If Deegan and Jett started wearing neck braces half the field would be in them by the next season imo
Your correct technique is alot safer than neck braces and etc. a knee brace doesn't let you point your toes in and doesn't help with preventing knee injuries. Alot of guys rore acl with braces on. Kneck braces keep you head from not being able to look ahead.
@@cdubie that's a recent development though. Because the pros stopped wearing chest protectors so the industry adapted in order to show off the jersey. Also most pros do still wear some sort of knee brace or protection like the evs tp199 and a roost guard under the jersey. As for the neck braces yeah I think maybe it can cause some issues depending on what brace you have and helmet you pair it with. I run a neck roll (not exactly a brace I know) and it doesn't cause any issues with range of motion. I do look stupid but it will stop my neck from compressing past a certain point.
I agree most wear pretty hefty braces still and I even have some leatt knee pads. A lot of pros do also still wear a roost protector under their jersey but there’s no shoulder protection most of the time.
Am all for the shoulder protection but won't it stop you from looking out the corners ? They look like they could stop your helmet from being able to pass the shoulder as you look out a of a tight inside corner. Am a big guy natural and I allsways touch my shoulder with my lid but it rolls through it as I straighten up as my lids harder. That's my thought on that design. You see it with young kids on pw50s

So... you have a minor crash in the first turn. The airbag goes off. Then what? Can you bend over to pick your bike up? Or is your race over once it deploys? For a road racer who travels at 180mph it's probably a great piece of protection. For a moto race doing 40mph maybe not so much.
Football shoulder pads would look goofy,,, LOL but damn you could walk away with a lot less shoulder damage. Someone in Motocross could make much better protection for the shoulder........
Your collarbone doesn't break because it was hit,.. it is because you land on your ulnar and it overloads the rotator, so something gives. Better it be the collarbone than the Cuff or any ligaments in the shoulder. Bones heal fast and clean most often. Soft tissue can be permanent. Ask AC. Sub: "All" and you'll get everything. Otherwise youtube decides.
