      Yeah, seems like "manuals" are just not like the good old days anymore.

    You wasted everyone’s time. You found out how difficult it was to assemble the stand, but you FAILED by not taking it apart and THEN making a video to show EVERYONE how to assemble the stand. You COULD have been a hero!!!!!

      I ended up going by the assembled picture as stated and that did the trick. Kind of a no brainer at that part.

      ha ha ha....Yeah, we're jumping around depending on what comes in the door from sponsors. Today we're on a CNC machine. Also have power tools coming in that will be reviewed etc and blades for power tools. I put my foot down on Lasers. We'll not be doing lasers anymore. 3d printers ? maybe in the future but nothing on the bookings right now.

    Thank you for your review. It gives me the much-needed assurance that I made a good purchase because if I were to judge by the stand assembly, I would have thought it was a crap product. The stand assembly instructions are horrible. The square holes for the carriage bolts are too small. I had to file down the carriage bolts for them to fit. Very frustrating.

      The saw is great for value etc, but that stand...well..you found out...quality issues there. I should chat with their rep about this in the coming future.

    Looks pretty awesome I always thought it would be cool to have a portable job site one for using in my backyard where I tend to do a lot of work in the summer and fall months. Great video and product.

    @SirTools - UPDATE;
    I finally launched into my project with my new VEVOR M1H-ZP5-254D-1 saw. I have never owned a table saw nor have I done any extensive ripping since my high school wood shop days so everything old is new again. I have about 100' of 2x various widths of lumber ripped with about 50' to go. So far so good, the 5000 rpm motor and blade seem to be up to the task.
    To back up a bit on my assessment; You are right, the stand assembly was a challenge given the less than detailed assembly instructions. As for the other parts and accessories I have no idea what the "accessory piece" of black plastic is on the blade side of the fence so that came off, everything I am ripping is 2" thick. Maybe it is for thinner stock like paneling when the fence is set close to the blade
    As for the rest of the fence, it is a little loose as you are adjusting it but I found that if you get the lever end set to where you need the cut to be and wiggle the other end back and forth as you are slowly flipping the lock lever in place it will square itself up.
    The miter is kind of loose and for lack of a better term kind of "flimsy" so you need to keep an eye on it and "assist" it in staying square as you are pushing the stock through. A longer/heavier piece of lumber will make this apparent as you are doing your cross cuts.
    I have been doing several 45° angle cuts too. The geared wheel angle adjustment on mine seems to be OK on alignment after checking 0° and 45°. I did need to adjust the gear engagement but that was minor and easy to do.
    Maybe this is the nature of portable table saws, it does like to slide or walk when ripping longer boards, in my case that would be 5' long boards. I step to the side of the saw as I get to towards the end of the cut to guide/feed and catch the cut piece. This may be a safety no-no but it has been working for me. I do have a roller stand, (new in an unopened box), but I doubt that I will need it for the length of the pieces I am cutting with my procedure.
    Bottom line? I am reasonably pleased with the saw and the performance it delivers for the price I paid for it on a direct purchase from VEVOR. Given the other saws that are out there in this class I am not sorry that I picked this one.

      Thanks so much for this detailed review. I like the price and it seems to be fair value for fair price etc. A feed table behind would be sweet.

    Thank you for this insightful video. After shopping most of the brands and then watching this video I ordered one of these direct from Vevor. As you mentioned in this video there are discounts and a coupon available from Vevor which knocked a lot of $$ off of the retail price that took it down well below $300.00 all in.
    I will post an update after I get done with my deck refurbishing project. I have a stack of unused pressure treated lumber from an earlier project waiting for angle, cross, miter and rip cuts.

      @@SirTools - I need a portable that I can get out of the weather as necessary. That and my neighbor did not seem thrilled with the idea of me borrowing his saw. Unused/leftover lumber is 2x6s up to and including 2x12s all of which need to be ripped down to 2x4s. I will post an update along with my assessment of the saw.

    Motor size and stand make this an awesome buy at $300. I wish I could find a stand like that for my saw.

  • @keithrayeski6417
    @keithrayeski6417 Рік тому +1

    Even at full retail, I’d say under 400 is reasonable. But my question deals with the arbor. I couldn’t tell but it looks short for a dado stack. I have the Dewalt but I was able to buy a kit that included a shaft of sufficient length for a stack. It’s a bit of a job but doable. I like the vevor…I’m not into fancy stuff…it’s going to get dirty so who cares about pretties!
    At 300…worth having in the barn as a portable so I don’t have to pull the Dewalt out of the bench.
    Nice…

    • @SirTools
      @SirTools  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, you hit the points with me here. The dado would be a nope. Portable but big enough that is feels comfortable and has good power etc. I like cabinet saws, but the trade off is big, bulky, heavy etc. I checked over the market and the little Ryobi was like...TOO small for the $329 list price etc. Tool prices are a shock at times. Wish my pension would go up that fast LOLOL..

      @keithrayeski6417 Рік тому +1

      @@SirTools 🤣🤣 if your pension goes up, expect your benefits to go down!!🤣🤣
      I do think this vevor is a serious contender for all the reasons you noted. And there are other means to make dados so that’s not going to take this thing out of contention. It’s a great saw at a super great price! Band saws put my jaw on the floor!! Maybe vevor will put a band saw in the ring to up the ante!!😎👊🏻

    Didnt have luck with mine. Big dent on extension table, bolts for the stand didnt fit and the throat plate insert wasn’t flat making the saw useless. I sent a few pics to customer service who did communicate with me. However a week later and they still didnt send out any replacement parts and wouldnt answer my queries for a refund. They eventually offered me 150usd for my troubles which i accepted because i could at least use the stand for another saw. I feel like the problem could have easily been rectified by simply replacing a few parts but they couldnt be bothered to do that

    • @SirTools
      @SirTools  Рік тому

      Yeah, I had 3 saws from Tacklife all about the same deal, but they did send me parts months down the road. Vevor is like everything else. Open and box and who knows. I've had good luck with them, but a warranty might be another issue.

      @@SirTools Your opinion of Ryobi aside, the Ryobi is presently $279.00 right now, 27 in. max rip capacity versus 25 in on the Vevor... Same RPM motor... Proper stop button on the Ryobi with slightly better fence, better kickback protection, larger wheels on the stand that's not complicated to put together... Vevor does seem to have a better miter gauge, table seems a little firmer, and it may come with a better saw blade but that seems to be about it and for that the sale price of $359.99 doesn't seem like it's really separating itself from that DIY'er range...
      Prices are going up but there's still sales and at least a few competing in this range...
      For this price range, I'd probably get either the Skil, even though it only has fold out legs and not wheels, or the Hercules, even though that would be without a stand, when it goes on sale... Though, I'd probably save up and just get the Metabo HTP Multivolt Table Saw, being the only 10" cordless table saw that also supports dado blades and can be on battery or corded with adapter, which fits me as I'd often have to use it in remote locations.

    I will trade you my Ryobi for your Vevor :) Yea, it does its job to a point but very limited. Also the stand with wheels is nice (needs bigger wheels though) as my cheap $200 one just has a basic leg stand. I would have definitely bought this one for $100 more if I knew about it when I got mine....a few years ago.

      Thanks Stumbling, I checked prices VS features and the Ryobi just came up too short for a comparison. Prices are going up on all tools in general. The Ryobi at LOWES listed for $329...like...WHAT ???
