  • Tyulenovo, A small quaint village on the North Bulgarian sea coast near the town of Shabla.
    The name translates as the village of seals since it is said that monk type seals inhabited the caves in the cliff around the village back till the 1940s. The myth says that Queen Mary of Romania who inhabited the palace of Balchik had a pair of seals which she released in the sea. They adapted and proliferated for generations along the coastline near the village.
    Though there are no seals now, the cliffs with the crashing waves, the stone arch and beautiful crisp air makes it an ideal place to visit for nature lovers.
    You can pitch your tent right on the rocks, go fishing and can be guaranteed of a good haul for your embers later. One can hire boats from the locals.
    If you are looking for a sandy beach and a swim this might not be the place for you. One also has to check the forecasts before going camping since the winds here are known to be quite notorious..
    The place is around 83 km from the Sea Capital of Bulgaria- Varna. Ideal for a day trip and on the way back you can catch an delicious bite at the Mussel farm Dalboka. The food revolves around Mussels and you can even finish of with a Mussel dessert.
