Thank for the shoutout! I think I will institute the James Bond sexiness soon
sounds lovely!
Very nice! The sunburst goes well with the wooden buttons on your sweater.
Those coffee mugs with the little pads on the bottom, give me a fuzzy feeling. I do enjoy it when you use those.
Somewhere in the future, i can see myself getting one of these. a nice classical guitar is missing in my collection. Thanks for showing
looking forward to more with that guitar.
Love the stands!
Need more acoustic demos ....i will head over to Seans channel and throw him some likes .
All support and love is appreciated!
love the sound of the guitar :)
Lovin' the mandolin on the intro track!
Looking forward to how you like it after you've had it for a while. Especially the tuning stability. I always worry about that on mid priced guitars. thanks
I will be heading over to that site and pick up one of those guitars
Very nice guitar mate
My first guitar was a classical one, it was my granddad's and it's dated 1973. Not the best for full on strumming but it is thanks to that guitar that I now am where I am :) They really have their own sound.
Nice change from your standard "metal" stuff! Good one!
Beautiful sound guitar, impressive work with that guitar by Ortega, and great playing on a nylon string guitar! :) . Ps for me best unboxing ever was walrus audio pedals, oooh god how much I love walrus audio pedals
dat tone though!!! like seriously, oh my word!!! must...Have...One
I love the model number graphic, haha. I need to get myself a classical so I'll check this company out.
Well Done!
Good guitar.
Good video.
Wouldn't it be a little more brilliant if you added metal strings on the bottom?
I'm not an expert but it's one thing that always bugged me about nylon string guitars. The upper register can be so dull.
Would you have to get a different nut matched for steel strings?
cheers
That guitar looks nice
very nice guitar
how would you rate this vs the Harley Benton acoustic you had? (I ask knowing that it was a steel string, and the Ortega is a nylon).
Secondly I think you should recommend a nylon string Benton, to your friends at thomann.
and finally, have you ever considered doing a series of FAQ videos, to help thin out the repeat questions?
WIll you show us that old nylon string guitar?
What is the loud hum noise? Computer fan? It was really noticeable until the 5:30 min mark.
as always, nice demo though I'm not really diggin that particular model
btw, what's that song @ 11:10

Awesome! I was just looking at nylon string guitars for the first time last week. I have been playing for about 10 years, but recently thought about trying to play some classical stuff because of it's complexity.
Sadly, it looks like Ortega isn't offered in the US, but I've been eyeing a Takamine P3FCN and Takamine P3DC (steel string equivalent) which are really nice.
Eventhough, it would be difficult for me to get one of these, I'm glad to see you doing more than just the normal fair. I'm loving your channel more and more. Thanks for this little 8 week challenge.
Peace.
I wouldnt expect a classical guitar that comes out of the box tuned, but when I received my first guitar from the big F company a few years ago made me a big impression that it was tuned!! An American strat purchased from thomann and shipped all the way to Greece. That was impressive to me. A strap included?? Wow, thats very nice! I personaly live for that day that a guitar is included with the strap though :P
What's the price tag on that one ?
I'm looking for a nice nylon string guitar ;)
Even though I'm not into classical/spanish type guitars I just cant relate to a cutaway on a nylonstring. I know that the good old Chet Atkins one had a cutaway, but still. I know it's subjective.
And is it just me or did it buzz in certain positions?
+sindsygeinuit But hey... who am I kidding. It would likely be that kind of guitar at that pricepoint which I would get, if I should invest in a nylon string... Not a Lefwich nor a Torres - for those I am not worthy
nice guitar! i actually like the colours on it, the brand is new to me but it seems an ok nylonstringed
G'day Henning, I was waiting to hear it with the Ghoul Screamer.
+D Michael James yeah it would be cool to hear this with overdrive/distortion pedal(s)
Ahaha it's funny cause I really was into buying one of their guitars and you are presenting them on your channel! A bit over my budget that one though, but an amazing guitar! Really pretty as you said ;)
There's going to be an MXR 5150 review?! Well colour me interested!
Oh, the 5150? Looking forward to that :-)
Seems like nice preamp on it.
Interesting, not sure I have heard of Ortega before but from what I'm seeing and hearing, looks like a good bargain for ~$500.
BTW, I enjoyed your classical rendition of "Smoke on the h2o". I currently own and play an Ibanez Electric Classic guitar. Not something I use too often but nice to have when you need it for a song part.
Mmmm… Beautiful guitar… I love the nylon sound… Oleee!! :D
You are way too humble about your channel. You make quality videos and have excellent commentary.
What is it that you are playing at 13:30?
+LegendaryK4 jus some Jazz chords... I think it was a jazz blues.
You should do more acoustic stuff, it really brings out your dynamic and passionate way of playing!
Sounds killer even without micing it up n shit..
Is Theres a Lot of bottom End? I don't think so. So hard to find the right tone.
Really cool. I'm a big classical fan and fan of Steve Howe, Yes. He plays a lot of acoustic and some classical. He has found a way to cut through the mix and make acoustic heard. If he can do it, we can too, with modern signal paths.Of course, I have to mention Harley Benton's classical guitars. They have some really great reviewed classical guitars. One with a LP type body, called the "Nashville Custom Nylon String", I think. Only 222.00 Euros. Getting great reviews. Also, the others Harley Benton nylons look promising. My wife has a Lucero classical , it was about $330.00, if I remember right. Sweet guitar for the money. This Ortega looks very sweet. The attachment for the headstock and neck is probably stronger than a one piece. Look at the grain pattern, the same thing when there is a scarf joint. Looks like a great guitar at great value.
great guitar stand on the left is it custom or can you buy it from somewhere?????????
+rnfnr bt www.bulldogmusicgear.com
thanks :) what's going on with your stairs
what's the amp with one knob
and could you do an cheap tube amp shootout !!! :) thanks again :)
Well, I don't know anything about classical guitars, but these look reeeeeally nice, and the pickup sounded cool even through the mic...
P.S.: Looking forward to the Neunaber reviews!!! ;)
Looking forward to the track you produce with the relatably named Ortega RCE158SN-TSB ("RCE158SN-TSNie" for short). Also, please show us the old Henning Standard Nylon-String Guitar you mentioned, so we have a clear point of reference for the RCE158SN-TSNie.
Maybe take a look at Vlatko Stefanovski, not sure how well known he is outside former Yugoslavia, macedonian rock fusion player, he plays nylon with a plectrum. Recommended hearing: Gajdarsko Oro, Pajduška, Jovano Jovanke (with Miroslav Tadić).
Thanks for the heads up on Sean Pierce Johnson. He has done some interesting vids.
Is the Ortega any good for MMMMETAAAAAL? (just kidding of course)
thanks for sagesting that guy. I can't spell his name haha but he's amazing and that guitar is so beautiful!!
Instead of rce158sn-hsb. How about the Ortega Mocha burst? Frank's not bad either. Is Ortega an Asian company?
RCE158SN-HSB, it looks like Ibanez auctioned out some unused model names....
Will you work on a classical version of "Enter Sandman"? Also maybe you could change your name to Herr Gross Johnson.
Sticker? Want it!
Sweet guitar. You should show us that beat up crappy out the trunk nylon string guitar some time. If you record with it it can't be that bad sounding.
This gives you more time to polish what you will play on it in your next video of it. Hopefully you will have direct audio of it (or miked or whatever you're hearing in the room) and not just camera audio.
Im spanish then lets see the full review and listen how it sounds, looks beautiful with this acoustic guitar apparence +EytschPi42
but sunburst looks kind of strange on classical guitar.
Ill take that sticker
Sunburst nylon string guitar?! Eh...but good video. Nice to see something different. I studied classical guitar for a long time, and your right hand technique looked great before you picked up the pick. 👍🏼
Sunburst doesn't do it for me...Only way for me to really try the quality of that guitar is to try it in-store. Eq is not bad either but I would play it traditionally.
Love me some Meola tunes. I'm actually going to save this video so I can learn Sundance in the future. Thanks :)
If you ever find an Alvarez classical hanging in a pawn shop look for the name Kazuo Yairi next to the model number. If you see that name, buy that guitar.
3:31 that's a great way to pick up a lady right there.
There are moments that I think (yes I do have a licence for that, I think): what a good guitar player right before you mess it up. Now I mess up my playing right from the start so no one mistakes me for a good player. More over MI is missing the T and they are in fierce competition with Caltech not with Berkly ;).
Al makes that appear easy.
You remind us we're human.
Good job tho :)
Where's Your trusty unboxing knife?
never liked this kind of sunburst colour
nice playstyle though ;)
I've always been bothered by these sorts of guitars because they tend to have really low frets, which may sound nice but makes them a pain to maintain in the long run.
Neat guitar tho
lol I'm really interested in hearing the dirty joke that you refrained from telling
Carry on playing Smoke on the Water on that thing and you will melt the nylon strings :)
ok, here's the thing: my parents are too stingy to buy my little sister an electric guitar and an amp for her birthday.
she'll only get an amp, because "she already got a nylon guitar and it has an output."
could you do a video like: "how not to..." maybe they'll listen to you
+LukVonTrug They will have to buy an acoustic amp.... BUT, if your sister wants to play electric guitar, then she should get an electric guitar.... whatever keeps her playing and makes her happy.... making music is the best thing that kids can do.... not supporting that is simply bad parenting!
agreed!
+LukVonTrug Just tell your parents buying gear is good for kids. It's addictive and one of the best ways to not have money for drugs or alcohol.
The kind of guitar to put off a beginner. Hard to play and so plink plonk. Not a Spanish guitar fan I'm afraid. Got one as my first guitar and struggled with it for ages. At least that one has side dots. Great clip though.
Strange video... Henning is wearing almost normal clothes
WHAT IS THAT ONE KNOB AMP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+rnfnr bt Blackheart Killer Ant.... 1 Watt.... awesome Rock tone.... killer with a TS in front of it!
can i buy it anywhere ??? couldn't find it on thomman or musicstore?????
Free guitars are good. LOL
Not bad for a pedal nerd..
Why should I watch 5 minutes videos? I mean - if i HAVE TO (cause there is no good long wids about something) but well... I believe if one wants to show something in a good way, it has to be done well. And I do not believe a good vid can last for freaking 5 minuts. Sorry. And about the unboxing i will not be speaking (yoda within mode - on), because it is just an unboxing, nothing special, i watch them just because i know it will be funny (and actually it is).
