The problem isn't so much that the writing is predictable - predictable stories can still be good stories, after all -, the problem is HOW they are predictable. Modern progressive writing derives the logic of its plot, setting, and characters not from the story itself, but rather, from the external ideology of the writer. This makes the stories insane and shatters the audience's ability to suspend their disbelief. With no suspension of disbelief audiences can't become invested in anything in the story. You're fundamentally bored because nothing in the story matters, and nothing in the story matters because thats how the ideologue fundamentally views it.

The thing that really bothers me about wokeness, not even just in video games, but in anything, really, is that it gets touted as being about inclusion, you know, all that kumbaya stuff. There are some funny things that occur with the woke details in games. SF6 has the default world tour character be a black male which you then have to edit, of itself not an issue but SF6 has other details in it which certainly make you realise why it was a thing, anyway ... This default character ends up in promotional material meeting the Streetfighter cast. For the newest trailer he meets Akuma and the first thing Akuma does is leap in, see's this black guy and then immediately shoryukens his sorry ass. I couldn't help but laugh at the possibilty some staff member may have slipped that through :P
There are many reason and I will point out the few things I think its most relevant. Firstly, more broadly, people have realized and learnt that staying silent, ignoring the issue does not make Woke go away, so more are starting to voice out against it. Especially when they can see its influencing their Country in real life. 2nd, Woke games itself isn't the problem. 10 years ago, if they had made an all dark skin character game or all LGBT character game, people will just take it as a different take or different style and theme. The problem is that these activists demand that every single game must put their Woke ideology into it! They want to force people to see things they don't want to see or pay for! The Woke however, if it is something they don't want to see, they get to declare it hate speech and demand it be taken away! Also if it isn't enough they already are running the Western world of games, they want to go after East Asia too! Why? 3rd, this is more about Japanese games. In my social circle and Country, which is mostly Asia and South East Asia, most people here have no idea about the bad localization. They simply trusted these companies to do it professionally. When I shared to them about the terrible localization, you can guess it, they weren't too happy about it, especially when they are spending their hard earn money and also that they felt deceived. However, in current time, the word have spread about the terrible translations and terrible attitude of the translators as well as the attempt to force Japanese Companies to Westernize their games and anime from development. Even regional publisher by China(not locally), Hong Kong, Taiwan, or South East Asia, do not do translation with this level of butchering and demands! I don't even need to inform anymore, people already knew when the topic comes out and are increasingly unhappy about it. They now know WHERE the issue is coming from and they witness all of the Woke behavior after doing more research into it.

He's a legitimately homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, mildly racist, over all a pig of a man and he WORSHIPS Trump and the Bible. Even as a slightly right leaning centrist with a distain for far left ideology, I find this guy insufferable, and I can see how being raised by him caused three of his four children to denounce EVERYTHING he stands for. I legitimately believe that were it not for him, they'd be more central on the political spectrum. Does that mean ALL Christians are bad, unhinged evangelical lunatics? At best, in the first game, i didnt even think about what "race" the gods were. It didnt even occur to me that Hermes and Ares were supposed to be asian and black. But now in Hades 2, its clear that they intended Hermes to be asian and its strange considering hes a greek god and not an asian one. Like Jizo (quick google search) is the japanese god of travelers and pilgrims, and it would be strange fir that god to be made greek just for the purpose of diversity. There are some funny things that occur with the woke details in games.
SF6 has the default world tour character be a black male which you then have to edit, of itself not an issue but SF6 has other details in it which certainly make you realise why it was a thing, anyway ...
This default character ends up in promotional material meeting the Streetfighter cast. For the newest trailer he meets Akuma and the first thing Akuma does is leap in, see's this black guy and then immediately shoryukens his sorry ass.

There are many reason and I will point out the few things I think its most relevant. Firstly, more broadly, people have realized and learnt that staying silent, ignoring the issue does not make Woke go away, so more are starting to voice out against it. Especially when they can see its influencing their Country in real life.
2nd, Woke games itself isn't the problem. 10 years ago, if they had made an all dark skin character game or all LGBT character game, people will just take it as a different take or different style and theme. The problem is that these activists demand that every single game must put their Woke ideology into it! They want to force people to see things they don't want to see or pay for! The Woke however, if it is something they don't want to see, they get to declare it hate speech and demand it be taken away! Also if it isn't enough they already are running the Western world of games, they want to go after East Asia too! Why?
3rd, this is more about Japanese games. In my social circle and Country, which is mostly Asia and South East Asia, most people here have no idea about the bad localization. They simply trusted these companies to do it professionally. When I shared to them about the terrible localization, you can guess it, they weren't too happy about it, especially when they are spending their hard earn money and also that they felt deceived. However, in current time, the word have spread about the terrible translations and terrible attitude of the translators as well as the attempt to force Japanese Companies to Westernize their games and anime from development. Even regional publisher by China(not locally), Hong Kong, Taiwan, or South East Asia, do not do translation with this level of butchering and demands! I don't even need to inform anymore, people already knew when the topic comes out and are increasingly unhappy about it. They now know WHERE the issue is coming from and they witness all of the Woke behavior after doing more research into it.

Even as a slightly right leaning centrist with a distain for far left ideology, I find this guy insufferable, and I can see how being raised by him caused three of his four children to denounce EVERYTHING he stands for. I legitimately believe that were it not for him, they'd be more central on the political spectrum.

At best, in the first game, i didnt even think about what "race" the gods were. It didnt even occur to me that Hermes and Ares were supposed to be asian and black. But now in Hades 2, its clear that they intended Hermes to be asian and its strange considering hes a greek god and not an asian one. Like Jizo (quick google search) is the japanese god of travelers and pilgrims, and it would be strange fir that god to be made greek just for the purpose of diversity.
