If you need a bushing to tighten your 8mm grip pin an empty 5.56mm case will work really well. Drive it in the latch hole and cut the excess off. It makes a real nice tight bushing.

Yes you should. You will also need to open up the sear holes in the receiver and clearance the underside of the feed ramp so the SMG sear can come up through the bottom of the receiver.

Question for you. I think you touched in this briefly here but I wanted to just make damn sure before I fuck up my build. If I have an SMG barrel, SMG Trunnion and SMG feed ramp, am I good to go with a semi auto bolt or is it also going to need to be cleared out to fit the thick SMG barrel.
The only thing that matters in a semi auto build is you install a blocking bar in the receiver and you use a semi auto bolt. You do not need to do anything to a semi auto bolt to use it with an SMG barrel.
I'm starting to fall in love with uzi's and that scares my wallet.

I cut my restrictor ring off my conversion years ago and use a semi auto barrel and never had any issues.
Consider yourself lucky. Somebody cut mine and it’s jams constantly.

You can also use one of our reducer bushings.
Im glad i never tried a parts kit on one of these as i had no idea there were so many things that have to be converted to build one correctly.
Uzi builds are definitely not like AK, AR15 or HK builds were you simply leave the full auto sear out of the gun to make a semi auto.
