In this video we will understand the process of recrystallization with the help of animation.
Metals are made up of grains (crystals). Recrystallization of metals is the process by which new grain structure is formed. This is basically done by hot working of metals. When metals are hot worked, internal stresses are relieved and ductility increases.
It takes place in 3 steps:
i) Recovery
ii)Recrystallization
iii) Grain growth
