I just want to point out that I wasn’t trying to steal any of your guys 🙏🏼 hahah. I actually ended up pretty unhappy with my team. Looking forward to another one!💪🏻
I feel like you could have easily pivoted to punt blocks on top of punt 3s. SGA, Jimmy and Sabonis are all top 10 in that build. Derozan is top 25 and Hartenstein is top 50
Thanks Dan! Will likely be doing a shai build this season and this video was really helpful! Thoughts on skipping guards like derrick white and alex caruso that contribute some 3s but are primarily defenders? Also, would jalen johnson have been a potential swap for cade?
@@OldManSquad thanks Dan I feel the scarcity of big man stats in the top 100 depending where you draft, is a good idea to punt FT% but end up punting Asts as well, playing DD rockets the value of big men and high usage guards as well
When it comes to maximizing value in a punt build the 3s punt is by far the best. You are able to punt away the least amount of value as quantified by the z score compared to any other categorical punt. In any punt build your goal should be to maintain the largest percentage of total 9cat value across 8 categories and the data shows when done properly the 3s punt Is the most advantageous.
It's not helpful to draft against folks that have your list. In fact, it's downright bad. Because then we start thinking we need to draft guys earlier than we do and the whole process gets goofered. Also, no need to name-call

You're off my s&&&list haha
@@OldManSquad I promise haha! I was getting annoyed by the exact same thing, I noticed it right away. I had to pivot what I was doing twice

Totally. Was just trying not to punt 2 things for this mock exercise
@@OldManSquad yeah I figured. You're right about punting blocks though. It's too easy/good this year
@@shahud1890 I don't think the general public knows it yet, though
@@OldManSquad Need to get into some money leagues that are drafting now haha
@@shahud1890 They're gonna be sharp customers though
I won’t hold my breath for Gafford going 11th round or later.. he was 4th round per game value last year
Yeah he's going a tiny bit earlier but not by a ton
Don't see a lot of punt 3's build. Thanks Dan!
You're welcome! It's not a bad punt. Probably even easier if I punted blocks too
@@OldManSquad I guess that's the question. What do you punt alongside it? Does blocks seem like the easiest candidate to pair?
@@scam661 Probably. Tends to be kind of an easy punt this year anyway

I don't mind any of the names listed there actually, hahaha
Claxton drafted 82nd is wild
Yeah that's pretty damn late
Hey dan if you had to punt percentage what would you punt? I play 11 cats 14 team, we play DD and 3P % FG% FT%
If you're punting threes, it's probably easier to also punt FT since you can take more bigs

Love the content Dan! Why not Mobley in the 4th in punt 3 build then you are not reaching for blocks later at center with a forward blocker?
I think you can get a ton of bigs late, basically, but Mobley is a fine choice in there

It's a good one! But obviously if you start with Steph or Tatum or Hali or Trae or whatever it sorta doesn't make sense
@@OldManSquad Of course, I actually prefer the no punt build on draft day but If my first pick is shai or jokic I really like to lean into a 3s punt.
@@OldManSquad The 3s punt is also the only punt where you can find players who actually contribute zero total value into that category.
@@sthomasbackus7554 Just gotta make sure not to wait on blocks for too long there as well
@@sthomasbackus7554 True, though a few guards are pretty close in punt blocks hahaha
I mean just because you’re punting doesn’t necessarily mean u reach so far
True true
do a 14 teams draft. 12 teams is easy
It's not about what's 'easy' it's about what will help the most users, but we'll get a 14-teamer going at some point
What a childish reaction to stop draft. You are mad on person whos following and learning from you. What he could do, set autopick?!
