Best news is that the parts on the Hunter are so affordable, and as you well know, it’s such an easy bike to work on. I’m just glad to see it again, and would love to see it running again. That would be so cool.
From what I usually see in our workshop at work I would say it's salvageable. Fork tubes look bent on video, steering stem might be lucky and it survived, neck bearings I would change them no matter what, and if the frame has a hairline crack where you pointed just put a welder on it and you're good to go. From what I see on video it's defenetly a bike that can be put back on the road with a few parts. And the starting part, yeah, that's modern bikes and fuel injection for you. We sometimes have bikes that sit arround in inventory for over a year, they fire right up with 1 year old gas if the battery has enough juice.
I would love to see how you restore/modified this one back up to a healthy bike. I'm getting my Hunter350 in a few days, my first bike but I'm already planning on some tweaks and mods at least to make it feel "more mine" . Really love all your Hunter Videos! thanks!
@@the_aph Thanks for the feedback! I'll compile the parts list and see if the cost is feasible to repair it. I'll be sure to do a video restoration series if/when it happens! 😉👍 --QM
If you can somehow revive it, I'd say do it! I know you loved riding that bike. I'm so impressed it still fired up! If you think it's with doing, fix her up and get her on the road again. While you do that, I'll be learning to ride on a 1999 CBR600F4 that I'm buying off my co-worker.
Glyn Owen has restored and customised a stolen and crashed Classic 350 on his channel. A methodical approach would see your bike back on the road too, I'm sure.
Yep, I'll know more after I make the full parts list and check the totals. If the frame is cracked or too badly twisted, then I'll abandon it and just sell it for parts (the complete engine w/ ECU should fetch a decent amount). 😉👍 --QM
How do insurance companies work in the United States? Do you pay the deductible and can you choose to have the motorcycle replaced with a new one? Or do you have to repair it on your own? What happened with the idiot who caused the accident? It was so sad to watch it, dude.
The guy who INTENTIONALLY hit me got away without ANY punishment... no criminal prosecution. 🤦♂️ The insurance process in this event was fairly straightforward. The other person's insurance policy covered the property loss of the motorcycle within the first 30 days; they deemed it a total loss because of the repair costs and the suspected frame damage. I asked for the option to buy it back, and they agreed to $1800. I figured that I could either do the repairs myself or sell the parts (e.g., engine, ECU, wheels, etc) to recover my $$$ if the repairs aren't feasible. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
hi m8 thx for the video end i thx for send me the intercom Sena :) to Portugal it was lite hard to get it but finaly i did got afther i get costum all paper email etc etc realy bad here but i got it many thx m8
Texas have been giving a lot of PINK titles to wrecked vehicles. and they say you can get them street legal again. but they are a nightmare to do and most times cost more than the vehicle is worth. but maybe after they stop the inspection it will be easier.
Yes! I've been looking at the new Guerrilla 450 as a potential replacement for the Hunter. I'd love to see a Hunter 450/600, but the Guerrilla is probably the only model that will fill that niche. 😉👍 --QM
@belalehner3937 After the break-in period, I was able to get about 80 mph top speed: ua-cam.com/video/FusM7dn5FGA/v-deo.htmlm55s Its comfortable speed, without sounding like it was straining, was 60-62 mph... very pleasant sound and vibrations. I think up-gearing it with a +1 front sprocket might move the comfortable cruising speed to 65 mph. That's still "slow" for most busy cities, but it's perfect for surface streets or as a back road cruiser. 😉👍 --QM
@@belalehner3937 Hopefully, it won't cost too much. Parts for these bikes are relatively inexpensive, but that's assuming I won't need a huge shopping cart to fill the order. So far, these are the items that I know need to be refreshed: - fuel tank (minus the pump and sender) - handlebars - left handlebar end weight - left bar-end mirror (CRG aftermarket) - clutch lever (aftermarket) - headlight bezel - headlight mounting brackets - speedometer/gauge - left footpeg, mounting bracket & bolts - shift lever & linkage - center stand - side stand - left passenger footpeg assembly - left rear grab handle - left front & rear turn signals - seat (still have the original unit) - (rear subframe?) - (front fork tubes & seals?) - (steering tube/head bearings?) - (windscreen?) That's a long list, but each item is relatively cheap. The fuel tank will be the biggest expense. We'll see how it goes! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Well, that son of a 👎 did a „perfect“ job on your motorcycle leaving a long list behind… However I would be happy to see you succeed with the repair 👨🔧 and watch a new series about it in the wintertime. I wish you all the best!

Glad to see you’re doing well and to see you pull the Hunter out. Had mine a little over a year and it still makes me smile. Got the same color.

A good winter project to get it back on the road by spring :)
It's always a good feeling bring a bike back to life.
Awesome - put her back on the road. I love my 350 Classic.
This is awesome. Love what you had already done to the bike. Can’t wait to see what you can do with it again.

@ That thing was running so smoothly with the FuelX and that exhaust. That seat too. Anyway….
@@the_aph It's sad that it ran only ONE DAY with that FuelX and the Coffman's exhaust before the wreck. 😭
@ That was crazy. Side note, watching your ride vlogs has made me a better driver, seriously. I find myself, saying things that you say.
The very first time I watched one of your videos was the day you picked the RE up. Best of luck with this👍🏻
Love to see it rebuilt again and back on the road.
good to see you again. hope you're all healed up.

such a cool steed. I think it's my favorite in your entire barn. hope you can do more with it!
Been wondering about this bike…very cool!
The quick cut to Gene Wilder was a hoot!
It's alive!
Been looking forward to this video
IT LIVES!
Damn 14 months?! It doesn’t feel like it’s been THAT long! Take the engine out and swap it in a minimoto 😂
Yeah, build it into the Navi or the Super Cub. Vroom Vroom! 😄
Would love to see it back on the road man.
Awesome!

By the way: whats the max highway speed of this bike?
