    I don’t get how lifting at a constant speed means I’m lifting with a force equal to the weight. I’d appreciate it anyone could explain

      Newton's first law! Forces cancel each other out = no resultant force = no acceleration!
      To START lifting something, you need to put in more force though.

      When lifting an object vertically upwards at a constant speed, meaning that you're lifting it at the same speed with no change. Therefore your normal contact reaction force is equal to the weight of the object being lifted upwards
