I sometimes use empty nursery pots upside down in one pot to set another on top for a tiered effect, planting something around the empty pots. Depending on the sizes and shapes of pots, this can be done with multiple tiers.
@@Wazupiseeyou I wound up putting a nice puddle of medium grey in about a cup of 'cement white' (a color I made up). I dipped the brush and dragged it round the pots. They came out looking sort of coolish blond sandstone. I'm so happy with them! Your stencil idea sounds interesting...I may make a stencil of a lotus blossom. With 140 or more plants, I try to keep most pots looking neutral and natural, tho. mainly let the plants be the stars.
Recycling nursery pots is not hard to do at all. We have Lowe’s and Home Depot everywhere And they accept all used pots to recycle. But as a reminder if you buy from Lowes or Home Depot or Walmart you want to keep your containers for one year do you know the one-year guarantee. I’ve been advised this by employees on multiple occasions. it does make for easier returns especially when you’re returning nothing but the base of the plants.
This video sound like greenwashing, I must have a 20 feet stack of plastic pots, the problem with Zen people like this guy is that they accomplish nothing and downplay problems. We need a national pots standardization and consignation.
I 100% agree with standardizing the plastic pots used in the nursery industry. No greenwashing about that. But until then, it's nearly impossible to effectively sort and recycle them to any significant scale. So labor intensive. To be clear, I would love for the industry to find a suitable alternative to the many options and sizes of plastic pots, often simply in the name of branding. Not sure where you're thinking this is greenwashing. For the plastic pots that are already out there, they need to be reused, or re-purposed, vs. just tossing them away.

Other than planting, this guy has Charisma.
Great way to reuse those plastic pots. Thanks, Joe.
Everybody who gardens sounds sooo relaxed like they just caught the best wave surfing in Hawaii
🌻🌼🌸great idea for putting flowerpot on the ground imitating the real ground growing plants👋👋👋
Amazing video!
I was looking for a way to paint or otherwise jazz up plastic pots to reuse indoors for my 100 or so house plants.

Are plastic pots you get your plants in are they safe to grow in
Yes they are. 👍
I take them to my local nurseries, who are happy to reuse them, so they buy less new.
How do you store them so they're easy to get to but ants don't make a home underneath them?
Joe Lamp'l, you age in reverse, you look amazingly good for your age. Smile
Joe you are aging in reverse you a look amazing
HaHa Brian. If there was a "love" option, I'd surely choose it here. Thank you.
4 Rs : RETHINK, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.
I save a few..thats it...No clutter!!!
Why are they ever empty?
Because plants go in the ground
