I literally just commented on another reactor's page that he should do this Superfruit next! I thought your eyes were gonna fall out of your head when Mitch went so high at the end! Loved your reaction!
Loved the reaction - every time you were saying "beautiful" and "great high note", I was thinking "Oh, my friend, just *wait*"! :) IIRC, it really was Scott's birthday, and Wicked is his favorite musical, which is why they did this. Thanks for sharing!
I was so pleasantly surprised to see this notification! I love the way people seem to love this like I do and I get excited for that part at the end with Mitch's highest note. I get chills in parts of the "finale" every time. I also notice Scott in the background singing his part and it's beautiful! Scott and Mitch definitely are very intuitive about the other musically and do well together. Those two were singing duets way back in their school years. I don't know if it's a natural intuition they have about the other vocally and they strengthened it by working together so much or if it's because they work together so much? But it was their back in Junior High and high school as well. And the fact that they were best friends simply adds to that Bond. The only thing I now notice is I can tell that Mitch was a young musician at the time still. His control moving throughout his range has REALLY improved tho it was excellent back in 2013 when this was recorded. But once in awhile on this particular song and I believe it's their "Frozen Medley" (Kirstin joins them for THAT!) I hear the occasional "not quite perfect" move from one part of his register to another.. like his breathing was off and he didn't have enough air to support the Note coming up. it doesn't happen often and he corrects instantly. But that's what I like about The Trio. They were constantly looking to better themselves and they had new ideas that required them to learn new things and hone their craft . Scott, Mitch and Kirstin have worked on their vocals and figuring out ways to make sounds without instruments and also play off of each other from before Pentatonix was a twinkle in Ben Bram and Scott's eyes. But no matter how good of a singer You Are there are only so many sounds you can make acapella and just three people wasn't enough for everything they were envisioning. They did try! The trio was very talented and they were most definitely risk-takers. Have you watched Super fruits Frozen Medley featuring Kirstin Maldonado? I think you'd really enjoy it and the bloopers at the end are extremely fun! That was my introduction to Mitch Grassi I never knew he could sing the way he sang in that song! I had already become a fan through The Sing-Off, but I'd never seen Sup3rfruit. I hadn't seen "Defying Gravity" and had no clue that Mitch had that kind of a range! My teenage daughter came in my room all wound up and said "you have GOT to hear this man sing "Let It Go"! So I watched Sup3rfruit "Frozen Medley" Ft. Kirstin Maldonado ... 🤤 Obsessed with Mitch's voice ever since. you should watch it! The bloopers at the end are crazy!
So glad to see a new Superfruit reaction from you! I just discovered the world of PTX (and SF) reactions in the last 2 weeks (though I'm a PTX fan from the beginning), and yours are about the best around -- never apologize for pausing (fans know the original video goes!), and keep telling us what you think. (I subscribed instantly when I found you.) One of the most remarkable things in Superfruit is that even when he and Scott are just goofing around having fun, Mitch always plays and sings it for real... he's legitimately moving. There's a UA-cam compilation of lots of performances of the very end of "Defying Gravity," and Mitch is there among them. He goes higher at the end than any of the ladies who sing the song!
YES!!! this was my first introduction to Mitch and Scott and I was hooked. Scott's favorite musical is Wicked but he was sick on his birthday so Mitch did this song for him
It was Scott's birthday and he wished for Mitch to sing this song for him, they had a *little bit* too much "Superjuice" but you can see how much fun they had. Check out their Frozen Medley or Lala-Land Medley
This was done as a birthday to Scott and totally as a lark. What always amazes me though, is how perfect the music is, not matter how much they fool around. PTX was also part of the Wicked Anniversary special. They covered What is This Feeling. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/E1weFZBZ0io/v-deo.html& The station took the video down, so this is only audio. If you want to watch the actual performance, you can catch on about a dozen other reactor channels.
Oh, one question, if I may... Maybe you explained this in a video I didn't see, but you seem to be using a different screen resolution than the older reactions, that stretches everything wide. Am I right about that? If so, I do prefer how it looked before, but I'm sure you have your reasons....
He is doing something new and I have seen that complaint before. For me everything is too dark so I am not seeing him clearly. He did ask for feedback so hopefully he reads this
Are you a fan of Memory from Cats? Morissette did a cover on Stages Sessions channel. She also did defying gravity (6 covers in total), but since I don't really like putting artists against each other I think you could hold off on Defining gravity for now, IMHO. I don't mind original vs cover comparisons though. Especially with ptx since they are doing it acapella.
Oh, and Scott's wig shows up in other Superfruit medleys, Like their Frozen Medley (with Kirstie) and LaLa Land! Must sees!

"The Wig" has a life of its own :)
Mitch just makes you feel things!! lol I love it

God, Mitch is superhuman.

Now you need to react to their Frozen Medley with Kirstie.
I'm so glad to see you are back. I can't wait until you react to last week's video dreams. You will be blown away
FYI. Mitch’s high note at the end was G# above high C
So glad to see you back my friend :)
Even when doing it for fun they always sing fabulously (unless they are jokingly being deliberately off key).
Since you love Wicked, you should check out the live performance of "What is This Feeling" that Pentatonix did!
You should check out Aha Live In It's live & Mitch tears a hole in the sky .
More Superfruit please!
more Superfruit and Pentatonix please.
Also, I mean yeah Mitch is amazing, but he chickened out of the ending. He did the whole thing in falsetto/mixed head voice. It’s meant to be belted.
SUPERFRUIT is amazing
