How to make Simple and Easy Crab Roast | Spicy Crab Roast Recipe | Crab Cleaning Video
Crab Roast or Kerala Style Njandu Roast is a delicious seafood delicacy of Kerala, a southwestern state in India known for its rich spices and coastal cuisine. This dish is also very popular in Kerala’s toddy shops (kallu shaapu). Crab Roast Kerala Style is a traditional and flavorful seafood dish that reflects the vibrant culinary heritage of Kerala,
The preparation begins with cleaning and preparing the crab, often segmented for convenience. In this dish, succulent crab pieces are bathed in a fragrant masala, creating a symphony of flavors.
Try this tasty Kerala Style Crab Roast at your home. It is best served with rice, appam or porotta. If you like to have little gravy, you can add in half a cup of thick coconut milk.
Ingredients :
4 nos Sea Crabs (can use Mud Crab or Blue Crabs as well)
3 tbsp Coconut Oil (use as per your diet restrictions)
½ tsp Mustard Seeds (rai)
¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds (methi seeds)
1 tsp Fennel Seeds (saunf)
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
3 medium sized (280 gms) Onions - sliced
8 to 10 Curry Leaves
1 large sized (100 gms) Tomato - finely chopped
½ tsp Salt (or as per taste)
½ tsp Turmeric Powder (haldi powder)
1 tbsp heaped Kashmiri Chilli Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
3 to 4 nos Green Chillies (punctured or slit)
½ tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder (kali mirch)
1 sprig Curry Leaves
2 to 3 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Note : tsp is teaspoon
tbsp is tablespoon
Use Oil as per your diet restrictions
