You know you're getting old when you see classic bikes that you could have bought new! Nice video! I don't know how things are in the UK but over here we're witnessing the _beggining of the end_ of this type of event. New zero emissions zones are being implemented here and there and finding a venue for this type of show is sometimes challenging. On the one hand, I guess I agree, things have to move on, there's no planet B and so on. But I'm sorry to see those beautiful machines fading away out of our lives.
I agree completely Alex, what defines a classic seems so strange given that some of them were just bikes to us once upon a time. The concept of riding such machines is definitely out of vogue but the shows survive currently as fewer and fewer arrive under their own motive power. Despite the world's reality I will hang on to my passion until it is ripped from my grasp, they are all just too beautiful and special to let go!
It's a great event and always well attended and very busy. It thinned out a bit later in the afternoon which made it easier to look around, well worth hanging around towards the end of the day 🙂
Fantastic collection, Dr. D.! And some magnificent production work on your part… lots of work I imagine. Really liked the one at 4:55 which resembled a Messerschmitt by my old eyes, but then again I think they’re licensed as cars here in the states. Hope you’re doing well- many thanks for taking us along! 🏍👍🏍
Cheers Gary, just share what I see, as ever 🙂 It was a fabulous display certainly and yes that is a Messerschmitt, probably a KR200. Because of their weight, under UK licencing laws they can be driven with a bike licence although technically they clearly are a small car 👍
Love the Panthers! Please tell me the Cafe-Racer types also have a RD350 at home - married to a double adult sidecar. Ah, Jota & Monjuic - the scariest & the loudest - together, someone's Sunday morn canter ain't for the fainthearted! Dougie Dream Four (H four?) looks interesting, Rolls once tried an H24 called the Vulture; poor thing plucked itself. I rate the way some of these routed round the problems of their day, Mr. Bowden still at school? - no problem, we'll build a steerable twistgrip system with steam-punk torque rods & two dozen precision rose-joint linkages; just oil it daily. Usually come away from these shows full of Millyardian ideas, along with that knowing fallen crest of 'sod all skill'! : )
Yes, bloody marvellous indeed!! I once owned a Ducati Desmo 250 (Silver Shotgun), 1972 model. Nice styling, but hopelessly unreliable. On the other hand, my Yamaha XJR1300, 2014 model, is excellent.
I think Ducati earned themselves a bit of a reputation for unreliability through the 70s and 80s but beautiful all the same 🙂 XJR is a great machine, I've had a 1200 and a 1300 and they were truly wonderful. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment

Some stunning examples there. Glad you had a great day out 😀
There certainly was some fab stuff buddy 🙂
excellent, as always.
Thank you kindly 🙂
Thanks again for making me look at bikes which I could have bought for a song 40 years ago and now I lust over... ;-)
Haha 😂 you're very welcome
We were there on the Saturday. First visit for us and we were surprised how busy it got. Loved the look of that blue Norvin.

You managed to capture all the bikes that took my fancy there. Was packed on Saturday, so a good job was done in filming the ones you did.
Cheers Dave, it certainly was quite busy but a fantastic day regardless
