I know this is an old comment, but I just had to say that it made me imagine the monsters standing there while the rangers went through all that, pushing part of its skin back, looking at a big monster watch, looking back at the rangers and zords, back to the watch, muttering that it was just going to go and destroy Angel Grove, and then the megazords formed, and then the monster got ready to actually fight.
So. Thanks. It was a funny image I had in my head.

After learning about Super Sentai, I can now look back at MMPR and realize that every time they received a new zord, it was a new season and cast for Super Sentai, as well as new battle gear.

Too bad Power Rangers have an annoying habit of destroying most of their zords at the end of almost every season. Would have liked to see Saban try to bring in all three sets of Megazords into one scene, bringing three seasons worth of zords into one fight. But since the Thunderzords are just powered up modes of the Dinozords, well, that just makes things complicated.
Im 23 years old and use to wake up early mornings on saturdays to watch this on fox kids, I even have the whole evil green ranger saga still recorded on vhs from when I was 6 in 95. I told my mom to record it form me because I had to go to school lol.

At the time, Rita and Zedd had took control of the Ninja Zords, and the rangers only had the Shogun Zords. Which was only had 5 zords instead of 6 that combined to the megazord. Therefore, Tommy and Kat had to share the White Shogun Zord. Mind you this was after Kimberly left, since she never used the Shogun Zords. The irony was that in a way it was Kat's fault why the rangers were using the Shogun Zords in the first place, though she was under Rita's spell at the time.
GANTZ100pts In fact, the behind-the-scenes explanation is that the original japanese season doesn't have a Pink Ranger so they didn't had a zord to put Katherine in. The Crane Ninjazord wasn't supposed to be piloted, in the original japanese season, it was just a zord with no ranger on it. Thats why the Crane zord is not pink and thats why they don't have fighting scenes with the rangers in japanese but all of them are USA footage.
That's mostly true expect for 1 thing, in the sentai that the 3rd season was based on, it was the FalconZord that had no pilot, not the Crane Zord, since there was a female White Ranger.

Looking back on this I thought it would corny as hell, but it's still one of the most badass shows ever. 90s forever.
My head right now:
The adult: "Why aren't the villians attacking during the transforming-sequence?"

i love that the sound effects were so bad-ass and hardcore. HAHA
Takes an hour and a half to assemble but 2 minutes to kick ass.

Nowadays Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson) work as a actress. Apart from that she is a guitarist and singer in band Valhalla; Jason (Austin St. John) is karateka and work as a paramedic. Tommy (Jason David Frank) is martial artist and still actor. He starred in Fall Guy; Zack (Walter Jones) - he is still actor - he starred in Buffy; Billy (David Yost) starred sometimes. For example in Ladykillers and last - Trini - yellow ranger (Thuy Trang) - Unfortunately, she died in 2001 when she was barely 27 :(
