Lyle, ever thought of getting some color commentary of your advenures into Marshalls by video conferencing with Greg Germino, John Suhr, and Dave Friedman while you work?
Hearing that clash of geniosity picking apart an 80s/90s Marshall would be a riot!
You just work and make occasional comments on what you are finding and let them just ramble.....
It would be scary to hear them free flowing whatever ideas they came up with....

Send them a video of your initial assessment ahead of time, then have them linked into your feed just exchanging ideas as you did the work.....

Have you ever worked on the Mesa Express series? I always loved the original Express 5:50, I haven’t tried the plus, is it worth $800 used? Or would I wind up dumping more money for repairs since they are older now

So on those tone pots, could you just wire a fixed value resistor in place of the pot? Would be pretty easy to reverse later. Just curious.

Out of curiosity, how would you go about replacing the box caps if it were necessary? Would the larger ones be relocated and tied in to the original points?

I would replace with new 400V box caps.

Are there particular Marshal power amps to seek or avoid (50-50, 20-20, 9200, etc.)?
