The Wacker story scares the hell out of me. It did years ago and does now. I’d love to know what continued to happen after this aired. It would almost have to be a family member or a spouse of a family member because of the changed number (if they only gave it to certain people). This and Circleville both still make me wonder.

If they arrest the suspect it would show that the police made a mistake in the case. The DA is in charge of asking for a Investigation on the suspect. That would show that the department made a mistake, the department would rather look good than to solve the case. The family should sue the police departments involved for being incompetent in the investigation.

In 1998, Shelly's body was exhumed for another autopsy. However, the new examiner found no evidence of foul play; her death was again ruled an accident. Shelly's family is still convinced that she was murdered.

There are still people who want to see the good in everyone, and have no qualms about trying to help others. And while that idea works in theory, it's a bit nieve in reality.
      Bottom line...
...We live in a violent, ugly world. And, you simply cannot trust anyone, be it stranget, neighbor or family. Even worse,, you can't even true law enforcement. Because, people will smile right in your face, even while they're beating, raping, stabbing & shooting you.
I always keep everything closed & locked, even my screen doors. And, I live in small farm town no place special Indiana.

there is absolutely nothing at least featured in this episode of UM that can even remotely tie the step father in with the murder. The Intruder likely broke the window, stuck his head in to evaluate the situation, realised climbing in and knocking all those things off of the shelves would make to much noise and therefore went through the front door which on the Robert Stack version was said to be unlocked. Obviously the girls comforter would have been taken to conceal her body duh. Obviously she didn't make any noise because the intruder had his hand over her mouth DUH.

It makes no sense for a horse who loved her to stomp her. Even if that horse had spooked, in an open field it would have ran. It wouldn't stomp its rider. If a snake spooked her horse it is possible that the horse was trying to stomp a snake. Just don't know.

there is absolutely NOTHING mysterious about the woman who died in the horse accident. it's just ANOTHER case of parents being unwilling to accept the death of their offspring so they need to concoct some story. it's no different than the MANY cases unsolved mysteries has featured over the years. examples include; any case of military persons who were missing or killed in action and the parents think it was SOMEONE ELSE who was killed and their kid was on a SECRET MISSION or the college-aged kids who kill themselves or OD but the parents insist they were MURDERED BY DRUG DEALERS OR SATANIC CULTS BECAUSE THEY KNEW TOO MUCH or the missing girls who's parents get MYSTERIOUS PHONE CALLS or some truck stop waitress says she saw them 5 years ago with a mysterious man etc. and it ALWAYS turns out they were raped and killed THE FIRST DAY they went missing. etc. etc. unsolved mysteries LOVES to exploit grieving parents.
