@@emileebaack6933 Oh hai! :3 Not gonna lie, after the show I was pretty much dead. And then the after party definitely hammered me. Got a bad cough :'((( Still was fun tho. Hope you're doing better :)))
Racial diversity. Body diversity. Gender diversity. Funky costumes. Funky dances. Insane vocals. Joseph wearing a Kippah. Pharaoh wearing THAT. What can I say, WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!!
@Joseph Carranco Not being preachy! But I have seen quite a few queer interpretations of this musical (not the Biblical story), and they seem to be becoming more common, which I think is neat. ☺ And being from the Bible is no impediment to being a gay icon; how about David and Jonathan? But that's cool if you don't see it that way. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is for everyone! ❤
unfortunately there’s no proshot bc it was a one night only concert, even tho there were a few cameras but whatever was filmed wasn’t released to the public for some reason.
I wish there was a cast recording but because it was a one night only concert and the whole company had limited time for rehearsals, there isn’t a cast recording 😔
I'm not a huge fan of this show, but certainly would sit through BUT THIS PRODUCTION THO!!!! but I feel like I entered a portal into Gay Musical Theatre Heaven! All these musical theatre heavyweights
I’ve never seen this before but WTF is this CAST??? I’m seeing: Noah Galvin Alex Newell Merle Dandridge Bonnie Milligan Jay Armstrong Johnson Eden Espinosa Mykal Kilgore Robert Ariza and my boy Mason Zaroff And these are just people I can identify off the top of my head. Who did this??? Who is the casting director??? This is amazing!!!
Is this entire production available on you tube? If so, where? Hopefully better filming and sound. Loved this. This show needs to tour across the US to show diversity increases the performance. Part of a healing we need to experience. I think Hairspray also addresses racial issues in an important way. God, who is the cowboy in denim?
I'm totally with it, but when did Joseph's musical become a symbol for LGBTQ pride and celebration? Serious question, was this the first show to do that? Was that the entire point of this particular performance? Because it is a gamechanger.
This concert was a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the classic musical by Andrew Llyod Webber wish they had Donny Osmond on stage to sing with the cast.
Now this is just my opinion here but I do not like this cast as much as other casts, I feel that they have completely lost the idea of what Joseph is, for example, the Pharaoh is supposed to be based off of Elvis Presley, and while yes you can innovate and add something to the character, you can change the foundations of the character. "Song of the king" was written to have tons of references to Elvis songs (Help me, Don't be cruel, All shook up, Treat me nice, etc) and if you take that character away the lyrics written around it become meaningless. Also the costume design in this is unbelievably disappointing, all to basic, not like in the movie which really captured everything perfectly, and Joseph's coat in this is just awful patchwork, if you compare that to the movie/stage production from the 90s you'll see which one is better. That's that.
I may be mistaken, but I believe this was a one night “concert” version of the show, probably attributing as to why the staging and costuming was not fully fleshed out. I think they made some wonderful choices to create something a little different and updated from the original material! It’s always fun to see something new :)
The body diversity in this cast is BEAUTIFUL
Our intructions for singing in the chorus was as followed:
1. Dance, it's gonna be a party
2. Be human and enjoy the show
We did. :)
Hey fellow chorus member! I don't have anything to say, just wanted to say hi lol

: [MushiMush] : Same, it’s weird to think that it’s been only a week. it feels like forever, and i miss it so much
@@emileebaack6933 Mhm. Once back home, everything seems so small. And slow.
The fact that Jay-walking is illegal again saddens me.
: [MushiMush] : Everything does feel tiny and mundane now :(
how is this cast so powerful
Racial diversity. Body diversity. Gender diversity. Funky costumes. Funky dances. Insane vocals. Joseph wearing a Kippah. Pharaoh wearing THAT. What can I say, WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!!
Because pharaoh in this production is supposed to be Beyoncé instead of Elvis and I live for it
@@Oncearanger88 I was imagining she was supposed to be Tina Turner
I was wondering about the Kippah/Yalmuka!
This is now the only valid version of this show in my mind now thnx
Back here again for my monthly pick-me-up viewing

I'm eternally astonished that Joseph hasn't become a gay icon. I mean, HE'S RIGHT THERE.

I love this cast so much pls we need a proshot
unfortunately there’s no proshot bc it was a one night only concert, even tho there were a few cameras but whatever was filmed wasn’t released to the public for some reason.

all we need is the village people would round off the most camp version ever i would want my money back
12/10 gayest production of Joseph ever
the cast and singing is amazing but they could've done better with the costumes
it was a concert, the director (Michael Arden) didn’t want full on costumes bc it wasn’t a full on production
