I have an 05/13 GX460, yellow and pink didn’t work, yellow and red did work,, just notice that there are two reds and the one to jump is the closest one to the yellow. Thanks for your videos BOB!! They save us lots of money!!
I have a 2010 GX. I performed the t-tap/jumper method above, and I got some sequence of the TPMS light then subsequently stayed on. so I unplugged the computer entirely, and the TPMS light went off and stayed off. as far as I can tell, this system is essentially stand-alone from the ECU; the GX could care less if it runs or not (my presumption). I would imagine it's the same on the later models as well..? we appreciate your videos man!!
Thanks Martin. I actually got help from another GX owner with this trial and it worked for me. As far as the years it pertains to, i don't have a clue since i don't have the array of vehicles to test from. But one GX owner did mention the colors do switch from red to pink and vice versa. So for some folks that it didn't work for, it wouldn't hurt to try the other color.
@@thatracer05 you are correct; I was mistaken... My unit is unplugged and my TPMS light flashes intermittently every now and then. I just left it out and haven't messed with it again 🤷🏼♂️
Update, the pink and the yellow wire doesn’t work. I switched to the yellow and the red wire next to it work. Thank you again, please continue making Lexus Gx460 videos.
I have a 2015 GX460 and the TPMS light would flash then goes solid. Just an FYI, I tried jumping the pink and yellow wire but the light did NOT go away...you need to jump the yellow and RED wire. Follow the facebook link Bob provided. Other than that, thank you for showing how to remove the panels!
I did the pink/yellow wire on 2016 and about lost my mind with it on start up flashing rapidly and then going away for it to only come back and flash like a bad connection. Finally tapped red/yellow and bam fixed. Thank god I ran through panels 4 times lol

Thanks hope to do this soon on my 2011. I added a small TPMS monitor with actual pressure values for each wheel. I fits within the small switch blanks left of steering wheel. Plus paid tire store $150 to install new sensors within the wheels. Nice to know the actual pressure for each wheel. With your video I can turn off that pesky dash light. Thanks for your research on the wiring.
Hey Kurt make sure you don't do a permanent install. I would use a "quick disconnect" or 3M T-tap connectors in the event it does not work I've had a couple of folks reach out to me and told me it did not work for their model and year. I can not decipher which years and which models to break down the ones that do work.
Thank you it worked! Unfortunately my t-taps are meant for 14-16 gauge wires so the tmps light flickers then turns off. Need to replace the t-taps with 16-18 gauge.

Since I accidently cut through the pink and yellow wires, i spliced them to a fitting then to the jumper. Should i try the red wire instead of the pink? If it continues NOT to work should i disconnect the jumper?
@@stevenguttuso1796 hey Steven, got some reason, it’s the red wire as claimed by some owners and Pink on some. Don’t know why. It could be the shade? Or a worn out red that looks pink? But i did have one person reconnect the pink and tried the red and it worked. If both red and pink doesn’t work for you, i would put it back to stock and go no further.
This is Awesome. I'm going to add the jumper flip switch when I'm in there to do some wiring and run it to the Jack access door so I can flip it off when I have my off-road wheels and tires on.
Before you start drilling holes, i would test to see if this method works on your model. I have noticed it worked for some and didn't work for others. A simple jump will tell.
Hey G-BOB, Did the disabling of the TPMS light affect the locking and unlocking of the doors? I just recently started having the issue of checking the tire pressure on all five after the TPMS warning light illuminated and it is still illuminated. Im not going to the dealership for anything because of the outrageous cost. As long as no side effects don’t arise I will definitely disable the warning light on my GX. I drove vehicles for 50 years with no TPMS. I believe it won’t be an issue for the next several years. Thanks for your videos!
G-bob…i like the sound of it. To Answer your question, no. One has nothing to do with the other. I haven’t heard anyone else raise any concerns after they disabled their either.
My 2008 gx 470 was doing this and lo and behold it was the SPARE TIRE!!! Check that first. Ask me how I know….these systems actually work pretty well. Check all 5 tires.
Don’t ever be afraid of a plan B or any alternative methods to get to your goal. If your GX blows up because of a diy then just go online and buy another GX. They’ve dropped in price since.
@GX*BOB quick question does your GX’s rear speakers sound really quiet??? On mine i tried to adjust the balance between front and rear speakers and if i try to put more sound on the rear the speakers sound really quiet and most loudness comes from the fronts 👀 I have never experienced that before in any car. Usually the balance between the front and the rear speakers has equal sound output.
Hey Andre, not sure if you're making a fair assessment being that most GX's come with the 17 speaker Mark Levinson sound system and a 330 watt 12 channel amp. If yours doesn't come equipped with it then u probably have a trim that doesn't come with the bells and whistles. Just from reading your comment, I don't think any adjustments you're going to make is going to satisfy you unless u do some upgrades in your sound system. When doing your upgrade you might just find out by accident that the output on your amp to your rear is either disconnected or cut somewhere along the way. Who knows? I don't have the ML sound system but i have no complaints with all the music booming upfront either. Time to upgrade the amplifier under the seats?
Bob, snice installing new wheels and 285's I've decided to just drop the spare tire and store it since I can't fit a 285 up there. My question is do you know if the TPMS light will pop on if the sensor is gone rather than just registering a low pressure? I dropped it today and drove around the "hood" and so far it's off.... aloha and mahalo!
@@kode3 Something tells me u might have to delete it thru techstream or take it to a tire shop. My local tire shop programs the tpms for me with his tablet but he won't do it unless u purchased it directly from him.
yep accidentally cut them instead of just stripping it,didn’t have a wire stripper during the procedure; update move the jumper from pink to the red wire. so far no tpms light after 20 miles

if all four of your tires are inflated properly check your spare tire you may not realize it but the spare tire has a TPMS sensor on it I work in a garage I've had this headache many times nine times out of 10 it's the f****** spare tire get all over the beach down and put air in it or you can do all that b*******🤣
Ok, what I want to know, those side cargo pockets...is that only a facelift 460 addition? My 2012 does not have straps like yours, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out if there is a way to raise the lid to reveal a pocket on either side. Those would be handy if they are actually there for little odds and ends, but I have no straps or anything to grab ahold of...
@@GXBOB lol, you called it a rear pocket side at 6:25, and looking as you pull it out, it actually looks like it has a pocket in it, but now I’m thinking it’s just plastic trim, and not an actual storage compartment like my wife’s RX has on the sides. I think it's just being nervous on camera and trying to fill empty gaps of time with no verbiage. I do ramble on a lot and that's a defensive mechanism. At least that's what my marriage counselor calls it. lol.

instead of doing all that much likely if all four tires are inflated properly many years on this particular model the spare tire has a TPMS in it make sure your spare tire is inflated properly 😁
@@GXBOB I would’ve but it appears that for model years 2018-2019 the TPMS ECU has been relocated to a mysterious spot that has still not been figured out. The receiver and antenna are under the headliner ( left off the shark antenna ) but the ECU remains elusive!

Ended up removing the TPMS unit and soldering pins five and six
That fixed the problem

The pink wire is actually a faded red wire.

This is for people that buy new wheels/rims that don't come with TPMS sensors and don't want to spend hundreds on installing new ones.

I just opened my 2018 to do this.. and.. there’s no TPMS box ( red ) there!! ( doing this to get rid of the TPMS light… ) WTF 😮
