I am from Vanni region in the north. I grew up seeing Sinhalese armies and used to think the sinhalese are evil people. But thanks to youtube, i can see the sinhalese are beautiful, kind hearted people. Its the politicians from tamil and sinhalese make up separated and hate and spread racism. If we can all live in peace and harmony, equal right to all communities, the island would indeed be paradise.

Keth Siva, I took a good friend of mine who is Jaffna Tamil to Sri Lanka. She stayed part of her holiday with my family and got to see us from a different side from what she experienced during the war.She liked it so much she wants to go back some day.A good point for us all to remember is that politicians will try and divide us to get political gain and the media equally will engage in click bait and not just reporting facts.We can build a better future together.

What an Beautiful farm...my mother her parents lives also on an plantation in Suriname/South America, with so many trees on their plantation...a lot of finger bananas, cacao trees, cotton, lemon trees, advocados, papaya, pine apples, tamarind, jackfruit, sugar plants, pepper plants and much more!! It was such an joy to go every time, we as child were never bored...and always climbing in trees. Such an fun!!

7:15 Proper riped Tamarind is sweet. If it is not riped, it might taste tarty/sour 22:48 Manioc or Cassava (usually you might have eaten the chips). It's same Yam we get from roots. Tastes similar to potato curry if you cook. Or you can boil and eat as breakfast with sambol. 33:50 you need to mix the riped woodapple with jackery and let it be for 1 or 2 hours. Like marinating. Eat after that. You will love it. 32:18 , 35:35 they are not familiar with UA-cam. So he is saying what is recorded is going to international audience.
I don't see milans wife n children. I only see his mum n Dad n granny. If he has no wife n children then if he passas on n his mum n Dad n granny are old. Then who does the farm goes too. It's a very large farm need many hired hands to manage the farm. Just a thought.
Tamarind is used as a drink and also to flavour food and introduce a sour flavour for balance. Bitter, sour green fruit is billing, very nice with salt and chilli. Have you seen people cut the regular coconuts by climbing the taller coconut trees? It is a real skill. The ones Milan picked are a different type of coconut tree, much shorter. Beautiful plantation his family has there.

Great episode. Milan’s garden is a typical permaculture farm that is unique to Sri Lankan agriculture. ( Milan’s family is very hospitable) These domestic farms have a large number of plant species and these traditional farming practices are extremely ecologically friendly. Davud’s vlogging style is also unique. He uses gentleness, kindness and soothing words to interact with people during his travel.

I loved this video. Milan looks like a great guy, I wish him all the best in everything 🙏 21:43 - selling fruit isn't all he does. He told you earlier that he's a farmer and showed you his rice fields as well. Looking after the fruit trees is part of his job but working on his rice fields (which is an insanely difficult job because Sri Lankans use almost no machinery for farming) is the main thing he does
The green fruit before you guys went to orange tree is blimbi (Averrhoa blimbi). In my country Blimbi (called as belimbing wuluh also) is used to prepare pickles, juices, chutney's, and most of the time used as a souring agent wherever required instead of tamarind.

What an Beautiful farm...my mother her parents lives also on an plantation in Suriname/South America, with so many trees on their plantation...a lot of finger bananas, cacao trees, cotton, lemon trees, advocados, papaya, pine apples, tamarind, jackfruit, sugar plants, pepper plants and much more!! It was such an joy to go every time, we as child were never bored...and always climbing in trees. Such an fun!!

22:48 Manioc or Cassava (usually you might have eaten the chips). It's same Yam we get from roots. Tastes similar to potato curry if you cook. Or you can boil and eat as breakfast with sambol.
33:50 you need to mix the riped woodapple with jackery and let it be for 1 or 2 hours. Like marinating. Eat after that. You will love it.

Tamarind is used as a drink and also to flavour food and introduce a sour flavour for balance. Bitter, sour green fruit is billing, very nice with salt and chilli. Have you seen people cut the regular coconuts by climbing the taller coconut trees? It is a real skill. The ones Milan picked are a different type of coconut tree, much shorter. Beautiful plantation his family has there.

21:43 - selling fruit isn't all he does. He told you earlier that he's a farmer and showed you his rice fields as well. Looking after the fruit trees is part of his job but working on his rice fields (which is an insanely difficult job because Sri Lankans use almost no machinery for farming) is the main thing he does

The green fruit before you guys went to orange tree is blimbi (Averrhoa blimbi). In my country Blimbi (called as belimbing wuluh also) is used to prepare pickles, juices, chutney's, and most of the time used as a souring agent wherever required instead of tamarind.
Sri lankan name is Bilin. We also pickle or curry it or make chutney.
Same here ... we call it Biling in Sinhala.. and it's not bitter... it's sour....
in my city (kanyakumari, south india) people use to make pickle out of it
