I was in the Coast Guard back in the late 70's and the Buck 110 was the go to every day carry utility knife. I have three from that period and all are still in use.
I have my grandfathers buck 110, he died in 1973, I'll pass it on to my eldest son, so he can pass it on to my grandson, I have one I bought in the 80's and still use to field dress my deer, and I gave both my son's one, on their 21'st birthdays, a fine knife, that holds an edge very well.
Hi Kyle I left a comment on one of your videos a few videos ago, regarding the unbalanced audio (about 75-80% of the audio comes from the left channel in some of your shots). I will leave a time stamp where it's very noticeable (at least with headphones), in case you want to look into it. From the 3:00 min mark, is one of the shots where the audio is unbalanced. So it will be easier to troubleshoot if it's a microphone setting or something you can fix in editing. Keep up the great work, some beautiful Bucks you customize here.
Hey, I wonder if you could advise me please? I misplaced one of my daggers a while back and when I finally found it, it was inside its sheath with a fair amount of corrosion. It took a good pull to get the dagger out as the rust was holding it in the sheath. It looked like there was a lot of rust built up on the surface of the blade but thankfully, it wasn't too deep and I was able to remove it with some time, effort and Flitz. I've also waxed the blade to protect it. However, I'm not sure what to do about the sheath. I can't see inside to tell if there's any rust stuck to the leather in there (it's too long and narrow). I also know nothing about leatherwork or stitching so I can't just take it apart and put it back together. I'm worried that it could damage or cause corrosion to the blade if I ever use that sheath again without cleaning it out first (if that's even possible). If it is possible, I'm not sure how to properly clean it. I guess I could try to get a long pipe cleaner but I don't know what type of cleaning solution would be best. What would you suggest? I'd rather not throw the sheath away as it came with the dagger and I don't know if I could ever get a replacement. On the other hand, the dagger is the most important thing so I don't want to risk damaging it.
I’ve been doing antler scales on my buck 110 inverted stamp knives for five years now, I worry the scales will pop off out in the field, because the epoxy is the only thing holding them in place, how do you secure them? Maybe try pins in the future. Outstanding work!
Kyle I think the one with the 5000 yr old wood might look better with the off color following the curve of the handle but still assume???? Quality everywhere!
Great looking custom Buck 110s Kyle!!! So nice ! Are they the ones with the higher grade steel blade ? Either way they are spectacular!! Great informative video as always Kyle! Take care and stay safe my friend!!!
I would have liked to see the stag handle custom 110. Nicely done young man! May I ask if serrations are common anymore? I don't care to use them, make them nor sharpen them. Again, very well done!
Would love to purchase a custom 110 but dunno how to contact you,I wrote you last week on Facebook asking information about getting my old axe restored, waiting on a reply
Hey Andrew! I usually only respond to work requests through email. My email address is posted all over this video! The comments section, the description box, and within the video itself. You can contact me at weiderfan.business@gmail.com for inquiries!
Very nice, but no serrations please. Unless you are cutting rope all the time you are losing the most useful part of a blade. I love your work. True craftsmanship. Thanks 🔪🎸
Couldn’t agree more about serrations. A sharp straight edge will do just fine. Serrations ruin the blade. Either full straight or full serration. Carey 2 knives if u must have a serration. But don’t gunk up a great knife by getting a combo blade. Gross!
Cannot believe your customers would pay a lot of money for these upgraded knives, but still have the crappy 420HC steel. Do you offer the 110 in upgraded steel? Like S30V, etc.
Yep, I can see it now. Some store bought Cowboy is going to get a custom knife from you and go out and try to skin a deer and hurt himself on that highly polished serrated edge. Sheezus.!
Just my preference here but I would never have a knife with a perfect edge to begin with, have serrations cut into it. This is nothing on you as you just did what the customer payed you to do, but to me it just degrades the knife.
Garbage. Real makers make custom knives. Then Buck tries to follow suit with massed produced junk. Why not hire actual bladesmiths to make them so they have some soul? Picking from a few options does not a custom make. Forge On!!!
Great work! Question for you. I live in Idaho where the Buck factory is located. However, I'm wondering if you do metal inlays like an aluminum (decorative or plain) or any other type of metal? It doesn't look like Buck offers it on their custom page. I have a 1982 finger groove that I had Buck replace the 425M clip point for a 420HC drop point blade last year. It's awesome they offer the blade replacement service for only $10, but now I'm thinking it would look even better with a metal inlay. If you do, what would be the cost? Times are tough so I don't have a lot of disposable income now, but if it's reasonable I'd consider the upgrade.

@@BladesRKing Thanks for your service. For me, the Coast Guard was the best thing that's ever happened to me. I loved every minute of it.
Buck makes some of the best knives out there today. Nice work on the custom jobs you do. 👍

I'm an old time 110 lover and you have certainly given them an upgrade. Wow, just spectacular
That final knife looked pretty cool.

So nice! Just wondering if Buck still honors the forever warranty on customizations not performed by them?
Well done.

Seems like you have the process down... lol
Beautiful knives brother!!

Beautiful 👍👍

Love my box elder burl you did for me !

Another knife!!!
Do you deliver to the uk
Kyle do u customize 110 autos?
Hell, we filed the edges on ours back in the day. Everybody (white guys) in our unit had one in 74'

Agreed ..
Nice work. I can appreciate your craft. Me personally its to pretty to be functional for me.
Beautiful, but I personally hate serrations.
Nice

Where is mine Kyle?//
Kyle i want you to customize mine if you would.
Os diferenciados
Wow is what I have to say...
You'd think Buck would sell kits for the custom knife maker. Seems an irritating extra step to grind off the scales.

Sweeeeeet
Not bad could be a better update without getting out of the traditional market
Sweeter than maple sugar ....
That looks great I like to have a buck 110 with stag
Buck reallyneeds to onvreas their metal offerings to be custom. A 110 in Magnacut foe instance.
you are an expert like a woman knows diamonds. not impressed.
If you're gonna do some custom, why not work on the bolsters
