I'm thinking Henry was still managing the ice cream store at this time
World Rockumentary Channel™ hahahahaha
I really wish he was managing a Bruster’s near me.
He saw the clash with bo diddley and the bad brains this year
It's amazing all of the audio and video we have of early Dead Kennedys' concerts, but so little of Black Flag.
+fallspeed exact!
fallspeed and the fact that Black Flag had formed and played concerts much earlier than DK, you'd think they had a little more scrapes of footage and/or audio.
According to Morris himself, they didn't get to play that much because they got progressively banned from every venue, they were blacklisted just when they were gettin really popular. I guess that explains why there's so little footage of them. The first good footage of the band is from The Decline of Western Civilization, when Keith had already quit the band
If you think about it, DK may have more early footage but BF does have more early input. The 1978 Nervous Breakdown LP plus the other Morris tracks (featured in Everything Went Black).
ah.....wish the sound was better and wish we had some live footage of Keith with BF. What a singer he was!!
it's amazing we even have this. As far as I have seen this is the only live Black Flag with Kieth on vocals.
horrible audio but fucking historic ....what do you expect....keith drinking and being pelted with picnoc food and cans....thanks for posting....been looking for this for a long time
It's crazy when you think that all these songs are classics now and here people are hearing them for the 1st time
Man, talk about history in the making. Few of the audience there would have heard this and one could imagine the sheer sonic blast of power and energy just blew the heads off those hippies and Disco freaks. I don't have to mention what the parents and kiddies thought :-). It sure was divine providence that captured this landmark moment for posterity and it sure is great to be a witness to a shift that led to something new and great.
The two guys "fighting" in the front of of the stage are Ron and Dez, so with Keith - we have the first three Black Flag singers in the earliest of photos.
Man this is so great to hear! Love all the BF eras, but this line up is really perfect and totally bananas. Wish they finished and released their first LP together, but I'm always happy to hear the Everything Went Black versions Keith did. Those rock!
Crazy, imagine being there, listening to a band that would influence an artist that goes to #1 on billboard in the next decade
thanks for posting. going to see them tomorrow night. FlAg!
It's a pity about the sound quality, because this is easily the best version of "Machine".
I was hoping it might be a better quality recording than what I had but, no. In punk rock it was never that important about recording quality but, well, I focused on trading for a buncha live and demo stuff so I could increase the odds of getting better recordings. This is so early for them and, yea, I don't know of other recordings from this period. I'm just glad we do have what we do have and You Tube helps us share it easier.
Cool upload, thanks.
"Everybody move back over here"
"NO!!!"
Police Story!
Wow! How awesome is this?!👍
GREAT
That's amazing.
Never knew there was a tape for this. Pretty amazing
I was there. The cops unplugged them towards the end of their set. Not long before that the crowd was throwing basically the contents of a small grocery store at them, a rain of tomatoes and fruit and even packaged items. I saw a full beer can hit the stage and explode. But the funniest thing thrown was a tube of toothpaste. One of Robo's cymbals got drilled by a whole tomato, but it didn't phase him at all. It's hard to imagine a more perfect punk gig.
Free sandwiches are better than any used panties or snobby attitudes I've gotten at any show. Also, Mugger laid more serious pipe than I ever grooved into any stupid vinyl.
Louie Louie with Keith at vocals?- Cool
01:00 "I'm crazy and I'm HURT!AAAAAAHAHAHH!"
head on my shoulders
yep
The early stuff is the best. Listen to it all on "everything went black" !I!I their best album! Creepy Crawl
is this the infamous gig where they fooled the park/audience into thinking they covered fleetwood mac?
that's what Keith claims in American Hardcore
picnic
This is INCREDIBLE, but please upload again within the digital "twink" sounds. Something went wrong with your video conversion or something. IiIi
Rest of the songs are on Damaged and First Four Years
I waass sooo wasssteddd
I really wish this was my profile picture doing the vocals.
what album was the rest of the songs on? besides nevous breakdown. damn i wish i was there.
11:57 - 12:48 you hear Ron Reyes yelling lmao
💀 👊 GALF IIII KCALB 👊 💀
is there any live footage of keith?
I've scoured the internet for years and I don't think there is...
...I'd love to be proven wrong though!
Earliest video footage of Keith is on The Decline of Western Civilization (1980), I believe
@@Coleman_H that was Ron
@@insertnamehere5106 talking about the Circle Jerks footage @ The Fleetwood in 1980
@@insertnamehere5106 Black Flag had to be filmed in a random basement because no club would let them play during those days
Everybody behave yourselves!! This isn't rocknroll anymoree
Horrible Audio
+Scott Warner What did you expect?
+Gustav Danielsbacka must be a Dead fan
its actually kinda kool
Historical value trumps sound quality in this case.
I never liked BF after Keith went to The Jerks,Rollins' voice didn't seem to fit the bands sound. They lost their "flow" when Keith left. With Rollins they seemed "rigid". Thank God for The Jerks!
What are you talking about? Rollins vocals mirrored the music I think. Really feels like a man being on the brink of being about to snap
rocknroll_jezus9 precisely, you’re so right
