Back in the days when footballers were ordinary blokes, hard as granite and as passionate for the game as the day is long. RIP to the great Francis Lee.
Today's footballers couldn't play the game like it was back then. The balls were heavier, the tackles harder and you were lucky if there was a blade of grass on the pitch in winter. It was more of a mud bath lol. RIP Franny Lee. 😢
RIP. Mr Lee. I actually think old Norman was quite shocked when someone actually retaliated. The only other player I saw get the better of him was Jimmy Pearce of Spurs. He attempted to do Pearce with a dirty one and came off the worse leaving him rolling in agony.
Funny thing about this was there was a football documentary on TV about 25 year's after this particular match took place, and two of the players featured in the documentary were Lee and Hunter, and they were STILL prepared to go toe to toe and sort it out!!!
@@mjwilliamdenman4170 lol I rewatched it and I guess you were right!! But the velocity of the swings and the gug down so technically it probably would count as a knockdown unless boxing introduces VAR
@@waynemarshall8836 Maybe this is one of those anime swings where the air coming from the rapid quickfire punches were strong enough to down Hunter Lol
When football WAS FOOTBALL played with everything your team has blood, sweat, tears, fists kicks the lot...its called passion. These days the game is played by soft, overrated, overblown pansies who wouldn't have lasted 5 mins in a 1970's game.
RIP franny Lee a true gent took that Norman bites your legs hunter lee took the punch got up ref called them both and sent them both off and walking off they both went and franny Lee just lost it big time and let the bully hunter have it bigtime another Leeds player Paul Madeley or something like that banged Kevin Keegan at Wembley floored him for no reason at all and all the rest of that match madeley was on tenderhooks shitting himself because everytime he looked up Liverpools tank of a defender tommy Smith was in his face.leeds great team in 70s but players just bullies they forced Brian cluff out would t play properly losing games they should of won and after 42 days ole cluff was out.was paid 25.000 for 42 days and kept the club 280SL MERCEDES not bad wage for 6 weeks.
I think he was more than shocked that someone actually stood up to him. Jack Charlton in an interview said if it was a one on one Lee would have licked him.

RIP Franny! Thank you for the memories 😢
Absolutely magnificent

@stuartphillips822 Possibly because Hunter was backing away. Jack Charlton said if it was a one on one Lee would have licked him. Hunter was a bully!
Apparently, it continued in the tunnel after they were both red carded, and Lee put him down...
Best "friendly" I've ever seen.
RIP, Francis Lee
best boxing match i saw live..and derby won..loved it
Ah good old days. Norman Hunter loved the man. Nicest man in the world off the pitch but on it 🤣
Norman " bites yer legs" Hunter. A proper centre half 👍
Way to go Frannie❤❤❤

I think it was Match of the Seventies, with Dennis Waterman.
@@austindavid7744 Could be. I can't remember.
@@wanderer1955🙏 RIP FRANCIS LEE 😢
What a shame we can't see this sort of thing any more. Such fun.
RIP “Franny” Lee has gone to meet his old sparing partner.
Neymar saw this and grabbed. his ankle
Thanks Mr Lee not bad for a Bolton lad.
Eff me...Franny Lee could fight 😂 😂 to think he became a respected grandad chairman 👨🏼💼
Franny didn't connect with a single punch. It's like when opponents of Mayweather throw haymakers all over the place and miss.

When football was football!!
R.I.P. Frannie Lee!
When football was boxing! 😆
THEY HAD A PINT TOGETHER AFTER THE GAME
Shook hands and exchanged photos of babies.
RIP
His nickname was "Lee Won Pen". You can see why Hunter smacked him.
I’m a red but RIP Francis Lee 🙏
Was either player, or both sent off for this?
Yes both, and they continued fighting on the way off!
Better than Sterling's finish
In the good old days when the rain-soaked old-fashined leather ball smacked you in the face, it was goodnight Irene.
What a hell of a punch Hunter.
For a shitbag. Blindsided him and then fell on his arse without Lee landing a blow.
None of today footballers would cope with the likes of Hunter and Lee if their tried to tackle them their would punch them to the ground

Hunter with the cheap shot and lee wasn't having that
No Norman just could stand diving B’s !
Who is here because of talk sport
The good old days..no one goes down and starts rolling like sissies.. football played by hombres
This fight started bc of a blatant dive in the penalty box.
Only one proper punch landed, 1-0 Hunter
He didn't land one punch
Rip franny you put Hunter on his arse
Yellow card
Guy in the yellow got done 2nd time
Never mind any goals or dribbling, that’s the best action ever seen on British football pitch.
Just heard that Francis Lee has died today aged 79. 😢 RIP 🙏
Almost as good as Keegan landing Bremner in the Charity Shield match.
Norman Hunter was an animal. Should have been in zoo. Same goes for the whole Leeds Utd team
Bite yer legs
Wow I thought Tyson Fury was tough. When men were men. Now its run ten yards, kick the ball , spit kiss the badge then ask for more money.
Man v man! But sadly not now.
Hunter was shown what a fool he was

Francis lee would've knocked hunter clean out...great player..
Big fanny Hunter was. Typical bully, fell on his arse without any blows actually landing. RIP Franny Lee.
