Here's a missed opportunity for this kind of gigs: the big visuals and visual focus on the performer are imho a mistake. It would be nicer if the focus of the evening was the dancefloor (and the people in it). This way you wouldn't have everybody facing one way but *eachother*. I don't think DJs are meant to be watched, but experienced through sound. The visuals are a distraction. My 2 cents...
As a raver, I do understand what you're saying. You've got a valid point. However, I consider there must be a balance because I love both looking at the people around me, i.e., share a smile with them and looking at the DJ so I can observe all the energy they are printing on their work.
