I grew up at a time where I heard so many other artist doing Willy's songs. Blue eyed soul singers were all around but the words and music belong to men and women like Willy Dixon, Koko Taylor and Muddy Water. I miss hearing good music like this on the radio stations.
I was very lucky to catch Willie in Jamaica in 1985 concert. He actually sat down with me and had a Blue Moutain coffee the next day after his show.I will never forget that day
I'm a 24 and I really love the blues since I was a child, I start listen this genres with Clapton, then i found Muddy and Robert Johnson but more I was searching less I was founding the reason why, since i found this. Now I really know the reason. Thanks for this. Really.
Thank you very much for posting this, I couldn't get this song out of my head ever since I saw it on Mezzo a couple of years back. May he rest in peace.
I consider Willie to be the greatest bass player, either acoustic or electric, to have ever lived. The man didn't just keep impeccable time, he improvised up and down that fret board all the time.
@ralphschmedley, you are right my good man i know Willie had recorded this on one LP or another cuz i sooooooooooooooo remember playing the living shit outta this song & have looked for it for yeeeeeears. I believe my ex was sent a promo copy for Rolling Stones -or,whatever fanzine- music review purposes via Willie's record co.
BEST SONG EVER WRITTEN !!!!!
Willie Dixon is one of the most influential musician in the history of music!
I saw Willie just after he released this masterwork. One of the great protest songs of all time by the most important link between the blues & rock!
