Hasbro has some pretty high production values and has been doing a great job on his lines. Transformers, Star Wars and even the Marvel and movie related figures are among the best you can find in stores these years.
As a display piece I do see the weight of the ships and figures someday causing this thing to collapse. Those landing struts look like they hold well now but the peg holes look of inferior plastics.
The 80's G.I U.S.S Flagg is about 6 feet, this Shield Hellicarrier is smaller & I agree easier to store & carry. that's why when i was younger & had to decided what to buy the massive Joe Aircraft carrier or the Joe Defiant Space Shuttle launch Complex. I went for the latter one easier & in my family's house doesn't take that much room.lol but still would like to buy the Shield Hellicarrier to use it for my Joes & marvel figures.lol
Dude, stop lying. There's no way you had to choose between the Joe carrier and the space shuttle when you were a kid. They came out so far apart that there's no chance you would have had the opportunity to choose one over the other.
For what it's worth if it wasnt flawed your review would have sold me on it. :-) You certainly know how to sell a toy. For a hefty price tag I dont see why the plastic needs to be hollowed out. Look at the G.I. Joe PIT interactive environment electronic sounds, multiple rooms and it was only 99 bucks. The BMF and Super AT-AT only 150 and a whole mess of electronic lights sounds n many special features. If this is the best Hasbro can give us in this economy then I fear what the future will bring.
Hey dan have you seen that playset for the new tmnt line, it's pretty huge to and like the rest of the tmnt figures it's pretty sweet. If you get a chance you should check it out.
another great video/review!! Seems cheaply made and flimsy to me. It seems like there's not much play value and its def not collector grade IMO. I guess if you have the space it's nice to display the figures.
The more and more I see this thing the more and more I'm glad I didnt waste 125 bucks plus shipping for this thing. It's a plank with a hollowed out undercarriage. They had the audacity to charge 125 buck for this? A display piece sure but the hollow plastic, and motionless turrets a hook crane that does nothing, and despite what Dan may say it's not real sturdy because everytime I see this thing shift or move in the review the mid section sags a bit. Either the table is uneven or its the weight
@trans8010 you are so right about this. its not worth the money. i wouldnt even buy it half price. its sagging. cheap plastic hollowed out etc. im sure many of them would be destroyed by kids if they played with it..but they wont because of the high price so value wise its also not worth buying because most of them will stay mint in box forever . not worth buying for any one really
Also Hella hallow, Hella flimsy, Hella cheaply made, look how it sags during the review it's not even sturdy enough to hold its own weight, and for a display piece I give it 15 years before they start to fall apart
Hi pixel Dan, would you mind if I used your 2nd intro from "From Pixels to Plastic" for my toy or video game reviews? They are stop motion reviews on Gunslingerzinc. It would mean alot to me. So, is it okay with you?
you could also use it to double as Doctor Who's "Valiant" helicarrier, which was shamelessly ripped off from Marvel comics. the DW figures are only 5" so not too out of scale for the brief (external) scenes we saw of it in s3 finale.
Looks like they cheaped out on the plastic for this toy, give me the BMF anyday! But in saying thjat this is still a great idea just poorly executed by who I assume is Hasbro.
i wouldnt even buy it as a display piece because the proportions are completely messed up. putting figures on them like dan did just makes it look silly if you ask me.
Don't be insulting the Flagg was way better, at least they got the Flagg big enough to think it was the right size as a kid, this thing is so small you would be going micro for it to be close, this isn't a hellacarrier this is a Mobil flying platform for trouble bubbles to full up at.
With the 'right' Nick Fury on point! :) But ill have to pass on this. There is just nothing really to it. Flimsy, low detail, bad scale, no Quin-Jets? No lights/sounds, no Nick? Sorry, but no.
Let me put it this way you can land this, and it's 3ft version on the deck of the flagg and still have the under half and command center to play with. This is a little baby compared to the flagg
Screw the helicarrier, I want that Maria Hill figure, because she's...wait for it...legendary!
I understood that reference
I want Diamond Select to make an electronic version with lights and sounds that is around 18" long. Just like they do for Star Trek.
i wonder which would win in a fight, this helicarrier or the at-at that hasbro released a year or two ago
I hope they make more Playsets for marvel...
I saw people carry two of these while walking around comic con. I mostly wanted this for the maria hill figure.
There is an Avengers' movie Maria Hill Minimate, based on Robin Sparkles, it was the Wave 45 variant
'Kids, in 2012, your Aunt Robin joined S.H.I.E.L.D.'
I like the way Dan keeps saying "send him to his doom". Makes me feel like they're going to land on my head.

Seven feet

Was that a HIMYM reference you threw in there during the black widow review...lol.
Please review the new TMNT Secret Sewer Lair Playset.
Hey dan have you seen that playset for the new tmnt line, it's pretty huge to and like the rest of the tmnt figures it's pretty sweet. If you get a chance you should check it out.
yup for that kinda money you need to have something more than a "figure launcher" and a trap door xD
that opening theme is my jam.
Excelente revisión!
Una maravilla ese súper Helicarrier.
Saludos 🇦🇷
another great video/review!! Seems cheaply made and flimsy to me. It seems like there's not much play value and its def not collector grade IMO. I guess if you have the space it's nice to display the figures.
Your right! the head is u.s agent on a cap body. great catch man!
Or Display your Gi Joes WITH your Marvel Universe figures
I know it's comic style Maria Hill, I just think it looks A TAD BIT similar to that movie version.
that is not the only large playset because tmnt's secret sewer lair playset
Bloody hell that's a big box
sorry for the double comment but damn that thing is awesome!
The actress who played Maria Hill is in the show How I Met Your Mother...
That's a way better cap than the first series
IDK, the Maria Hill fig looks a tad bit like the movie version.
Is it me or does the middle of the Hellicarrier look like it's sunk a bit in the middle?
I had a Nerd-attack when i found out Dan watches HIMYM :DD *passes out*

it looks nice and id love to have that Maria Hill, but i dont have the space for that thing

The hellicarrier is hella BIG

But that Captain has the same head sculpt as U.S. Agent figure from Captain America First Avenger Movie line...
I wish I could go to comic cons but I dont live near any locations and my family does not have enough money to go let alone buy anything cool
Dude Dan, where did you get that fresh shirt?
It's not a movie playset it's a comic inspired one. I thought the comic Captain America would be a huge clue for you.
Honestly i think it would be better scaled with heroclix or handful of heroes!
Hi pixel Dan, would you mind if I used your 2nd intro from "From Pixels to Plastic" for my toy or video game reviews? They are stop motion reviews on Gunslingerzinc. It would mean alot to me. So, is it okay with you?
You know i went to TRU and saw it and was like no too big but now I think Ill get it since I dont want to pay the SDCC price
you could also use it to double as Doctor Who's "Valiant" helicarrier, which was shamelessly ripped off from Marvel comics. the DW figures are only 5" so not too out of scale for the brief (external) scenes we saw of it in s3 finale.
4ft holy crap at almost as tall as a kid!!! lol.
I WANT THE MARIA HILL ACTION FIGURE!!!
Awww do i cant make my own lets go to the mall or sandcastles in the sand music video XD
How does it float... ..?
No its not U.S Agent has stripes going all the way up his chest and his star is on his right pec.
Looks like they cheaped out on the plastic for this toy, give me the BMF anyday! But in saying thjat this is still a great idea just poorly executed by who I assume is Hasbro.
so cool!
Oh man. If you could buy 2 of these you could make a retail sized one and a friggan 5 foot one.
It looks just like the normal version just bigger and a different color and 4 extra rocket launchers
How much did it cost
Epic Shirt!!!!!!
It would of been better if Nick fury was included
I just got Nick fury for this line do you have an Instagram?
this is cool..
That Cap is a repaint of USAgent
i wouldnt even buy it as a display piece because the proportions are completely messed up. putting figures on them like dan did just makes it look silly if you ask me.
never seen this one before
i want that maria hill figure so bad.i wish you could send it to me. +PixelDan Eardley
more like a marvel PAAAAAAAAAAARTTTTTYYYYYYY!!!

How big was the G.I Joe Flag?
What a hunk (and I use that term loosely) of junk!
Flagg copy anyone?
Don't be insulting the Flagg was way better, at least they got the Flagg big enough to think it was the right size as a kid, this thing is so small you would be going micro for it to be close, this isn't a hellacarrier this is a Mobil flying platform for trouble bubbles to full up at.
Lol yeah im 10 so that thing is 8 inches shorter than me :D
oh.
With the 'right' Nick Fury on point! :)
But ill have to pass on this. There is just nothing really to it. Flimsy, low detail, bad scale, no Quin-Jets? No lights/sounds, no Nick?
Sorry, but no.
i don't get it
So empty inside of the ship. It is just a shell, easy pass for me. Oh well~
Are you selling that?
yalla yalla^^
Hyper CHARGING STAR!
first dan!!!
I am about 4 ft long! Only a bit taller
third!
Does anyone know if this heli-carrier is as big or bigger than the G.I. Joe's USS Flag?
Eugene Uehara
I think it’s larger but it’s not as bulky and it does not have that many play value.
Let me put it this way you can land this, and it's 3ft version on the deck of the flagg and still have the under half and command center to play with. This is a little baby compared to the flagg
Are you cavemanfilms
