    You could have entered St. Peter's for free and it would've been worth the wait in the queue, it's spectacular. The Sistine Chapel is inside the Vatican Museums, around the corner from the plaza you were in, not in the basilica.

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  Рік тому

      We just looked up Copperto! Had no idea that was a thing. I think we avoided the payment except maybe day one at the bar outside of the Trevi Fountain we had beer and used the bathroom. They may have charged us because it was expensive.

    The best museum in Rome is MUSEO NAZIONALE ROMANO!

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  8 місяців тому

      We didn’t get to visit when we were there! It’s easy for us to get to Rome with flights so on our next Italy trip we will be sure not to miss it!

      Bravi!
      Il Museo Nazionale Romano è immenso, ha quattro sedi:Palazzo Massimo (vicino alla stazione Termini),Palazzo Altemps (vicino a Piazza Navona ) Terme di Diocleziano (vicino alla stazione Termini) e la Cripta Balbi. Per il grande pubblico sono interessanti soprattutto Palazzo Massimo e Palazzo Altemps.
      Palazzo Altemps contiene la collezione Ludovisi che espone dei capolavori esaltati dai più grandi intellettuali europei (Winkelman, Lessing, Goethe, Stendhal, ecc.ecc). I turisti del Grand Tour nel 1700 si recavano dal più celebre ritrattista dell'epoca, Pompeo Batoni,per farsi ritrarre accanto alle statue romane più famose, gran parte delle quali è esposta in questo museo.
      Il Palazzo Massimo espone invece le statue ritrovate negli scavi dopo il 1870. Alcuni sono autentici capolavori ( Pugile in riposo, il Principe ellenistico, Augusto in veste di Pontefice Massimo, Ara di Ostia, Sarcofago di Acilia, LA FANCIULLA DI ANZIO (originale ellenistico preziosissimo che fu acquistato dallo stato italiano con una cifra enorme per evitare che uscisse dai confini dell'Italia),il discobolo Lancellotti, il discobolo di Castel Porziano, il Christus docens, ecc.ecc. questo museo espone anche gli affreschi della villa di Livia (moglie dell'imperatore Augusto) e della villa Farnesina. Questi affreschi sono di una qualità eccezionale perché opera di pittori scelti dell'imperatore, che ovviamente erano i più bravi. Nessun museo al mondo possiede pitture di questa qualità!

      Thanks so much! The world is losing out on so many free sights to see. Years past we could explore so much more, as budget travelers it’s heartbreaking. Thanks for watching! Tomorrows video is in Malta!

    The Sistine Chapel is in a palace in Vatican Museum and from what I remember for 30$ you have access not only to the Sistine Chapel but also full access to Vatican Museum's various galleries. San Pietro it is a distinct destination. Google ""Can you enter Saint Peters Basilica for free? :
