      Definitely some phrases that are channeling Django, and he pretty much defines the genre.

      Adam Maayan - Agreed! I didn’t want to be negative, but as an avid listener and lover of Gypsy Jazz the glaring omission is the lack of a driving rhythm guitar, which is a key element of the genre. Nice playing otherwise.

      @@deaterk boys he is play bass on the guitar.. thats it. and i am a gipsy and i play gipsyjazz all the time and THIS is gipsyjazz ecxept with a rythem guitar but aguitar thats played as a bassguitar. nothing more noting less

      @@cameronmason4452 Cam…no offense intended & I’m not picking a fight or trolling. This performance, while very nice in it’s own right is not at all in the gypsy jazz style. It’s missing a few elements that are inextricably essential to the genre. The most obvious omission is the lack of a driving rhythm guitar. Rather than playing ‘finger style’, with a walking baseline the second guitar should have played straight rhythm. That alone would have propelled this much more toward a gypsy jazz feel,

      @@deaterk There are obvious elements of gypsy jazz in solo guitar - in terms of right hand picking technique and musical language. But of course as a whole it is a jazz performance on nylon string.

    I like Gypsy jazz but I don’t like jazz because jazz looses the melody by going all over the place. Gypsy jazz keeps the rhythmic melody throughout. This was jazz rather than Gypsy jazz

      I use gypsy jazz technique mixed with bebop, some jazz fusion vocabulary too. I have named it gypsy jazz style for the people to be able to find it on UA-cam ( since I have other videos named like that )

    Gave this a thumbs up. However, I found it sterile when compared to any of Django's interpretations or compositions during the Hot Club era. I didn't feel any passion and for me that's a problem.

    why did you damp the lead guitar that much.. definitely 6 to 12 db more upwards on 2 khz would have been apriciated.. the way it is it just sounds like masch to me

    isn't this just normal jazz? There are some elements missing for it to be gypsy jazz. I think the only thing making this gypsy jazz is the tempo. Tempo is up there, but the rest is missing.
