      "South Australia" is a very popular Sea Shanty, and just happens to be in English. The reason for using sea shanties is all of the sailors are taught to do specific tasks that require precise timing with the shanty (like unfurling or trimming the sails and raising the anchor). They've just simply chosen an easy and very popular shanty.
