This was incredibly entertaining. Several stadium sing-alongs during the game, a couple dingers, Maddux being Maddux, and a triple play to end the nail-biter? There's even gonna be interesting post game analysis and speculation about whether 2B is suffering from some underlying injury or Knoblauch-esque mental block. Mental Knoblauch?
Is nobody going to tell Jim or Jake about the special glitch pitch, where you can throw an 8mph ball and have it curve nearly out of the screen and then bring it back?
Heartbreaking ending there. You know it's rough when you have sweet soul Zack (who had a lovely circle edit in the beginning) chuckling at you. Favorite line: "That's not enough! That's not nearly enough!!!!" -Jake
that ending legit happened on a jomboy breakdown from like last month. 2 men standing on 2nd, both were called out, umps didnt really know exactly what was going on. Id protest that win btw
if it’s not too late, please consider playing little league championship series for the nes. this is fun but the gameplay and characters on that, i think everybody at jbm would have a blast with it
If u hold a and b through the whole pitch it should throw it in the dirt and its un-hittable, but it a ball if they take. Adds fun anger to the game lol
I mean...slugfest or slugfest: loaded NEED to be played on this series at some point. A large chunk of the happiest moments in my childhood involve kneeing a baseman in the balls to make him drop the ball on an already long dead play just to try and steal home. ....Also, Big Daddy Zach should print up a list of cheats(maybe take out the really gamebreaking ones, but keep "Big Head" and harmless stuff like that) for them and give them both the paper pregame. Maybe allow for a few minutes of studying the list to pick out which ones they'll try to remember. Then we all just enjoy watching them both try to spam input whichever ones they think sound fun in the little timeframe they gave you to do it in, as the game loads up. And all laugh our asses off as Jake's team inevitably walks out with a bunch of horses as his players or something. Honestly, maybe dont even give them a list of the actual codes. Could be fun to see them do it how we all usually did it at friends' houses when we were kids. Just explain to them HOW it works, with the three buttons plus a direction on the joystick being their tools, and just let them spam through it and see what they end up coming out as. Sure one of them might get Dwarf Team while the other gets max batting or something lol but thats kinda the fun of it. Plus there are really only a handful of cheats that really made you overpowered, while there were like 50 that just changed cosmetic stuff like having a Sword Bat and stuff like that. goddamn now i gotta go buy a ps2, and a copy of slugfest just to satiate this need for nostalgia. Anyone already have it and wana invite me over for a gaming session after school? lmao
To the madden point, one would be inclined to believe there is an algorithm for getting calls wrong, and then an additional algorithm for getting the challenge wrong. It’s a video game, we don’t need the human error issues of the league. Add some actual features to your $60 copy and paste job every year.
Yeah wasted my money on the last 3 madden's. Won't happen again played this one for a week or so. Found the show has the best player career. So until madden does something to change imma play the show and maybe 2k. Problems aren't as bad as madden
@@CameronForrester same lmao, my friend got me on it and now all my football buddies are addicted to it. I used to play baseball when I was younger but only for a year or two so interest is kind of their. But I played football all middle and highschool. Hopefully 2k makes this thing they're coming out with good
There's an N64 baseball game called Bottom of the 9th and if you set all the defensive controls from automatic to manual it just becomes a chaotic game of errors because the controls are so difficult.
I know this is baseball, but back when NCAA still had college football, my high school would let out every Thursday and Friday for the county fair. Coach said no one goes to the fair, we stay home or “team building”. Aka a massively orchestrated 2 elimination tournament that would last 3-4 days. No one left. We had food brought in and that Friday was one of our bye weeks every season. It was epic. We would confer the council of elders (20 years ago… come on) at Jin Jin Palace and the rules/team draw was established. By my senior year, we had draft day (randomly picking teams), had interviews, “official partners and sponsors”.
In one of these early baseball games either for Nintendo or Sega you could pick the Oakland A's and get Dennis Eckersley with an ERA of like .60 or something crazy like that. It was like picking the Oakland Raiders in Super Techmo Bowl so you could run around with Bo Jackson whose video game speed was like 2x the other players on the field.
I was all about Super RBI Baseball as a kid. It wasn't that good of a baseball game, all things considered, but it was the one I had. The secret trick was that the AI could not throw to home on a bunt, and players with 10/10 speed were almost 100% to bunt for a single. If you built your own team out of the fastest players in the game, you could score hundreds of runs by bunting every at bat.
You guys would love Baseball Simulator 1.000. It's a normal baseball game UNLESS you choose teams from the Ultra League. Ultra League players have various superpowers that you can trigger at any time to do things like: -hit a zigzagging ball that changes direction every time it hits the ground, -pitch a heavy lead ball that breaks the bat on anything less than perfect contact, or -make a sliding catch from more than 50 feet away. (The powers draw on a limited pool of ultra points that each team has for the game)
Jomboy tries to pick off someone who doesn't know how to steal 8 times, a breakdown.
Love this! We need more of this please! Best game you all have played!!!!
The best triple play you’ll ever see
What an ending! Need a Jomboy breakdown asap.
Steve Sanderson was a real liability all game. 4-5 errors minimum
For the whole game. I need to hear him mock Steve Sanderson even more.
Sandersons dreadful outing really diminished the nearly heroic performance of the homerun killer, Harvey Dukes
The indians did a real similar olay just a few weeks ago that he brokedown lol
Take note of the ‘foul’ ball off the second pitch. Replay don’t lie.
This is a historic choke job by Jake. Triple play on the perfectly placed bunt. The 2nd baseman had 4 errors but base running woes cost them the game.

There's even gonna be interesting post game analysis and speculation about whether 2B is suffering from some underlying injury or Knoblauch-esque mental block. Mental Knoblauch?
Ahh yes, the classic 2-3-2-5 Triple Play. Stuff you see teams practice constantly in Spring Training drills
Is nobody going to tell Jim or Jake about the special glitch pitch, where you can throw an 8mph ball and have it curve nearly out of the screen and then bring it back?
Tell me please lmao
@@sansanabanana you'd hold the very centre of the control pad and then hit the A button.
Yeah, it was awesome. It took the ball, like, 5-7 seconds to get to the plate.
The awful defense had me laughing my ass off.
Outfielder stares at ball
Jake: “oh boy”
Heartbreaking ending there.

I think it was actually on 3rd!
Jake that decision making at the end, Pap… what are we doin
What a game! Looking forward to the tournament.
That was the greatest ending I’ve ever seen in any video game
"I got a friend that plays video games"
"Nice dude, what other stories you got?"
if it’s not too late, please consider playing little league championship series for the nes. this is fun but the gameplay and characters on that, i think everybody at jbm would have a blast with it
I was thinking this or Mario Baseball but copyright stuff may also pose an issue keep in mind.
@@timbrosnan2699 Mario Baseball on the Wii was fire 🔥🔥🔥
the teleporting umpire is so good at his job
As a second baseman myself, this was incredibly hard to watch lol
If u hold a and b through the whole pitch it should throw it in the dirt and its un-hittable, but it a ball if they take. Adds fun anger to the game lol
This is some of the best content on the internet
Back in the 90s this ending would probably cause me to punch my brother after the game.
I like how Jake called his right handed pitcher Steve Carlton
I have re-watched this triple play moment about 15 times and it just. gets. funnier. every. TIME! Love you guys!
Lol that triple play!!! I also appreciated the All-American Rejects karaoke!
“You’re third basemen must know my second basemen”😂😂😂
Definitely gonna need a breakdown on that triple play

Jomboy singing about how he has to take care of his dad cuz he doesn’t take care of himself and it’s sad was actually really funny for no reason 😂
Its a paraphrase of the actual lyrics
Jimmy = 2021 Yankees. Trying to blow the lead but BOOM triple play stops the rally
Dude this game is my childhood my brother can legit hit an inside the park home run everytime he hits
Cap
The last frame of the video is beautiful 🤣
Pretty sure every second baseman is gleybae in this game. Lovin the channel.
Always come back when I need a good laugh
Y'all need to play RBI Baseball THREE. best one IMO. Better controls and actual names of characters and a bullpen.

I love this game to death but my favorite baseball game is super mega. I would love to see Jomboy play a couple games, great game.
we need a Breakdown episode on that last play lol
what a great tag of both players by third baseman for triple play.
This was sooo Great!😎👌
Would love you guys to try Bases Loaded! So much fun and has best nes music!
I remember playing this. I’m old
Jake on fire with the comedy here
8:05 : The manual actually says there is a Screwball option. LOL
Gonna need a breakdown of that final play.
That bad base running is going to need almost a breakdown.
5:52 Center field just runs right by the ball xD

Artistic vocalizations in this installment.
Lol at least one of them was safe but still triple play to end the game… legendary
nah, both got tagged at the exact same time so both out

Everybody's suggesting other baseball games so here's the one you should obviously do for the tournament: Backyard Baseball
You need to play the whole 9 innings. This game is hilarious, the AI is so broken.
Bad News Baseball is so much better than this
The common 1 3 5 5 triple play...
Ah, the ol' 1-3-1-5 triple play. As routine as they make 'em.
For some reason, all I can think of is Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys with those glasses Jake is wearing😂 I like them though
Love these

Why tf do i want more of this?
If it wasn't officially said, you are correct. The defense moves automatically.
Game suggestion, Baseball Stars on the NES. It has a lot more to its pitching than Baseball

WHAT. A. PLAY.
Jake's second basemen is awful
Chuck Knoblauch
damn, nice ending
This is probably the father of Super Mario Baseball
Almost the same triple play the Yankees turned Vs. the Blue Jays 😂
