i actually liked junpei reasonings for one... true they may go back in past to "try" to save him, but they will underwent the nerve breaking battle with nyx first, then after that there is no guarantee that they can save his life... which will make them experience his death, twice
I understand what everyone is saying. Junpei is worried about failing to beat Nyx again. If they do, they might lose the protagonist of the Journey again (and effectively make a time loop). Akihiko is saying the protagonist will have died for nothing if they succeed, which is total disrespect to what he did and what he stood for. Yukari loves the protagonist, and is willing to risk all three options of total failure (Nyx wins), Half failure (Time loop), or success.
... fighting Nyx again? Yeah, I'd pass on that too, actually. Yukari made sense until someone realized that going back and possible losing to Nyx would be a BAD thing...
Dammit, when I played this part, I was genuinely considering everyones choices . On one side, Yukari wants to go back to the past and try and save him, but by doing so she would have completely screwed up the events of the past and may have ultimately led to the demise of the entire world, But on the other side, you have to consider what the protagonist did, and decide whether or not his sacrifice was in vain or not. Ultimately, he put his life to save his friends and even the world. Akihiko and Ken see it as this way and decide to live on by his wishes, to use his sacrifice as motivation to move on and live. Junpei choice makes the most logical, given the point that there is always a chance of failure if they go back and attempt to save him. But at the same time, he doubting his own desires to go and save Chidori. In the end however, Junpei chooses to protect the reminder of everyone else given the same thing could happen to Aigis if the keys were brought together. In the end, I can't help but think that I would side with Junpei. Hell I'm sure most of you would. In any case please feel free to reply with your opinion on who you'd side with.
I would side with Junpei was well. He was the only one who was thinking of Aigis. If one of them had won, she very well could have died, but no one seemed to care except him(and Metis and Fuuka most likely)
"If you take my sister's... she may lose her life." I don't understand why SEES still underwent these fights even though they knew that Aigis could possibly die If ya ask me, everyone from SEES is selfish, except Junpei of course.......¬_¬
Everyone is selfish, including SEES. They all envied Aigis for being the "new Minato", inheriting Orpheus and the other personas they can't use. It is likely most of them felt that Aigis didn't deserve such a position, and thus, they wanted to access the whole thing first. Since Aigis is still considered a robot and all, they probably thought they could repair her and restore her to her normal self. Not saying that their behavior is totally ok, since Yukari has kinda become annoying from it.
the way i see it. everyone kinda starts acting the way they did before "the Journey" ever began except for maybe the exception of Junpei who is now acting smarter
Looks like Yukari's not thinking it through enough. If she prevented Minato from dying, it could mean the destruction of the world as they know it. Along with it, Minato as well…he's going to die either way.
@@neutralplayeroflol5722 If you care about somebody too much your not thinking straight that's just common psychology so don't blame Yukari for being selfish.
tbf it should be noted that they only know for sure that Nyx kills everyone and that Minato would sacrifice himself as the only way to prevent it at the end of the Answer. Akihiko says himself that it was done because there was obviously no other choice, but no matter how you slice it, that's not something any of us know as true. Yukari looks at the situation as like the Arcana Fight, that if they were able to move at those last moments, they could help him and win.
o.o i think minato would be seriously upset if he knew that his friends were commencing WWIII among themselves... and started by his ex-girlfriend no less. but this was the scene where junpei got upgraded to my fave character after koro.. xD
Heh when I was playing the journey, my friend spill the beans about the answer to me. But he got it all wrong when it he told me that the end was, Akihiko and ken wants to bring shinjiro back, Yukari and Mitsuru wants the MC back, Junpei and korumaru simply wants to go to peaceful past relaxing at the beach and Aegis and her sis did not decided yet. But now thinking back, that's a nicer way to put this story. P.S. im also suprise to see everyone has the same reaction as me towards yukari, Bitch.
Yukari definately lost her damn mind and I suppose Mitsuru too. Junpei hit the nail on the head. Losing to Nyx means not only the group dying but the whole humanity. How much stronger did they get after the battle? I sure know Yukari's cram school wasn't playing a part in training. Yukari seem to don't care about anyone else but saving Minato but Minato himself died for that cause that Yukari ignores and would probably think low of her if she did such a stupid act.
@Kitsu16 They never made the answer for P3P so the only canon MC is Minato. That said, I think Yukari is taking the Persona 4 approach actually. If this had been P4 they would have gone back to the past, beat the crap out of Nix and that other malice monster, and everyone would have been happy. The P4 characters didn't vibe with sacrifices. If they had actually made a sacrifice they would have died together rather than making the others suffer through being alone.
@Kitsu16 Ehehehe I hope it's Akihiko-senpai affected the most... tho I wouldn't want him to go all Yukari (that would have been too OOC for him anyways)
What would be cool, is if this game had 2 different endings with 2 different boss fights, one ending, you actually go back to the past to fight nyx (most people would pick this ending just to be minato again lol) (But you'll redo the answer) the other ending, the one that's already in the game. 1st thing I said to this 'low blow yukari, low blow ¬_¬' If they really did go back and minato found out what they did, he would just facepalm (he is a silent MC after all). He's just gonna do it again
well i would've kept moving foward with my life. what ever happens happens after all. im with ken and akihiko on this and if its a fight for the keys they want then so be it. as boomstick from death battle would say "ITS TIME FOR A PERSONA BASED DEATH BATTLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Actually, Yukari isn't being smart here. If they stopped Minato from sacrificing himself using the great seal. They would have all died. There was no other way to prevent the fall.
i think the only ones who really took a step back were Aigis and Yukari, who obviously have a reason for that. Ken is not wanting to die anymore,Akihiko is not going so hard on himself anymore, and Junpei...well,he never ceased to be junpei.
Elizabeth wants to destroy everyone's will to die which is the cause of Nyx in the first place. Removing Minato as the great seal will result in Nyx's resurrection all over again as he is the one keeping those two ingredients apart. Take away one of them though and there would be no need for Minato's soul to suffer any more.
Did no one here ever play Chrono Trigger? That had an extremely similar situation but actually allowed you to make your choice rather than have the whole "unavoidable fate with no happy ending" stuff.
@Elliotkalte when i was reading the comments i waited for someone to say this . you described in detail exactly what i was thinking about this scene . @hjt091 i get what you're saying ,but i think it's still 100% worth the shot. i think i agree with Elliotkalte .
Yukari is being dumb in this scene. That was just plain selfish of her. Minato(MC)'s death was no accident, he knew what he was doing. He sacrificed himself to give them a future they can all live in peace. Undoing what he had done would be an insult to him. Besides, what's the point of going to the past? Going back would mean they have to face Nyx again, and they know too well that Nyx is undefeated. It's not like they can make a miracle like MC did.
Akinari: By the way, shouldn't I get some of the royalties from the book you published. I mean, I wrote it and all, now they're making merchandise of it.
On a site note though, i think this decision is rather unnecessary for the game. They just threw it in there for a twist, that's all. They could have just all calmed down and went for the door leading to Paulownia Mall and onto the ending. Noticed that Yukari changed dramatically in this scene. We never seen her like that before in the entire game. It's just like they just make her like that so they could make this decision reasonable. Besides, the characters would never fight among themselves.
God damn it Yukari! Did the character development in the journey not do shit to you?! This is like at least the third time where you snap at someone irrationally (twice at Mitsuru for hiding the lab explosion details for the sake of EVERYONE and then blaming her for all of Yukari's problems and that she didn't need to be pitied) and then go puppy eyes to say "I'm sorry"
Wow...umm i guess Yukari does care Deeply about Minato and would DO ANYTHING for him BUT i got a Feeling that they also made a Promess to each other back then be 4 he died to Universcity/or Collage together but 4 got which and that promess was broken so she's little mad about it and in my thought i BET that Yukari is Minato's TRUE girlfriend in the story if any 1 agrees reply then or u disagree then REPLY anyway.
The reason Mitsuru chooses to side with Yukari is because during the main story (The Journey), Mitsuru asked Yukari to stand by her side so she could overcome the past. During The Answer, Yukari is the only one who wants to go back to the past, even if it means fucking up the present. Everyone is against her, so Mitsuru sides with her as a sign of solidarity, not because she believe what Yukari does.
Nope, still think Yukari is a total bitch in The Answer. I didn't think I would actually have respect for Junpei... Also, it seems like Metis almost wants everyone to fight.
There's no way they could defeat Nyx again. That would mean that MC's sacrifice, all their efforts, and everything they had done as a team would be wasted and no one will even know about it. Best choice is just move on.
I happened to like Yukari in The Journey but in The Answer she is just annoying. That being said, I think I may be the only one to like Fuuka the most.

But they already had a clue that it was him who saved the world.

Mitusuru did ask her to stand with her until the end, Maybe she was trying to honor that? idk kinda out of character to me.
