Wade and Strus are still coming back and they play defense, so they will likely be fine, but Kenny needs to tell these guys if you don’t play defense you are getting your minutes cut. Their roster is so deep they can afford to sit or cut back minutes on 1 or 2 guys that are just blatantly not playing defense.
The Cavs cannot stop opponents from making threes right now. It seems every game since they beat the Hornets in a competitive game and the Hornets chucked up 52 threes, while making 20 of them, opponents are taking more threes against the Cavs. Against Boston who shoots more threes than anyone it’s not going to change. Defense cannot be the Mobley and Allen show inside and on the perimeter everyone else just funnel their guy to them, when the opponent is taking and making 20 3’s a game. Dean Wade and Max Strus both play defense and their help on defense is needed right now.

Luke Travers should play injured Dean Wade minutes, J. Tyson for Levert’s outs, JT Thor for EV J-A time off, keep rotations, got 50 or whatever games out of the two ways, see who be more valuable for a possible deal, they’re ballers not babies. LT starting vs the big wing teams, makes sense. And switching up the backcourt pairing perhaps. Say Spida Levert Travers Mobley Allen or Ty Spida LT EV J-A vs BOS/OKC let DG & OKORO come in off the bench for TY & Spida … DG he’s our PG now & of the future but rn with this roster he should sacrifice & come off the bench vs Boston OKC maybe ATL. Humility would make us more dangerous. He’s PAID. Bulk up the starting backcourt and not playing guards as forwards would go a long way in those matchups. *cough LT. Still early, but that’s how I’d handle getting thin & the potential matchup issues vs those kinda teams. TY Spida & DG OKORO seem like two elite backcourt pairings that make more sense in certain matchups. Cav 🏀 should be fluid and take many forms as needed 🥋 … LT hustling creating havoc along with Mobley being all over and the FRO rim protecting system … might be enough defense and offensive flow to become the lineup of the future to maximize both back and front courts. We looked pretty good with Wade & Levert both out there. If Travers & Tyson played those roles in Boston and Atlanta maybe we win those games. Now the record blemish is there, give them those opportunities and don’t reward guards with forward minutes when we got hungry hard working youth to jump in and flash their future potential with us in these kind of roles. There’s no baggage with causing a loss anymore, but I really feel they’re ready and would’ve made a difference.
I'm very concerned. This was a revenge/cup game and the Cavs just seem like they were going through the motions a lot of times during this game. If they can't get up to play their best in this spot I have little confidence they can do it in meaningful playoff games. I thought Mitchell took too many poor looks. I am very disappointed. I hope Kenny cuts down or out these Niang minutes. I feel like Kenny is just taking the easy way out by giving Niang minutes since he is a veteran and having a guy like JT Thor just rot on the bench. It is unfortunate that Niang has played decently during the early part of this season because now Kenny continues to give him way too many minutes.

Cavs had good shot quality???? A good bit of both Merill and Mitchell's jump shots were decently contested. The cavaliers did a poor job of hunting good shots which resulted in them scoring just 101 points. If they didn't force 20 Turnovers, they may not have cracked 95 points

How many times have I seen DG or Merril checking a player thats 6-10??? Plus they are not running the offense either. Boston exposed the Cavs and they are funneling into issues they had last year...and Danny, youre observations are bad....your doing what cavs reporters said last year when things were going bad and not calling them out

We have found the Cavs Achilles and yall better change smth up before the rest of the league exploits it. You guys are comically vulnerable if Mitchell is taken out the game. Your defense is overrated you play overly aggressive when things don’t go your way and either foul or take stupid gambles which lead to easy points for the opposition
