Ela faleceu muito nova, aos 42 anos! Eu era pequena,mas, lembro quando a notícia veio, minha mãe chorou. Ela amava CLARA NUNES! Eu amo tbm. Escuto e sinto que as energias vão se limpando pelo ambiente! Quilombo dos Palmares era um Refúgio para onde os escravos negros fugitivos íam (não todos, claro).

From there, begins the process of enslavement of the indians who fought but did not resist, which is described in the first verses, and soon after, the slavery of individuals of the African ethnic groups. This song says, in a poetic way, that it was these struggles and laments against slavery that came the first songs of Brasil.

Cool! Frank, you must know by now how we (Brazilians) are passionate about our music. Our musicians are like demigods to us LOL. Maybe you should know that three of them are more respected than any others: Elis, Chico and Jobim. I've seen your reactions to them, but, in most cases, you didn't react to their best songs (or versions). You still have no idea what Elis is capable of. When it comes to Chico, don't react to him singing live (he's not the best singer); the power of his songs lies in the lyrics and harmony, which only the sudio version can do justice to. You have no idea how deep, poetic and sophisticated his songs are. My suggestion: react to "Construção " by Chico, but the sudio version (with an English translation) ; and watch Elis sing live on RAI TV (from the 70's). This is not her best, but good enough for you to understand what I'm talking about.
