Damn what a Nostalgia Trip
Can we get another one about zilla jr's wife the Komodo dragon
I know this Cyber Zilla he cool🦖🦾.
I am very familiar with cyber-Zilla since I grew up watching the animated series of the 1998 Godzilla movie. Being reanimated after what happened in Godzilla 1998, only to be an alien weapon for world domination is heartbreaking enough. Cyber-Zilla had to fight his only surviving offspring, and Zilla Jr was forced to put his biological father down for good for the sake of his adopted father. It really is heartbreaking. 💔
As one of the character designers on the animated series, I would like to say that this is a really keen and thoughtful analysis of that arc. Nicely done, sir. 😊🤜🤛
Welcome to DangerVille! Thanks for helping craft a huge part of our childhood!

@@DangerVille RIGHT ON, MY FELLOW KAIJU AFICIONADOS! 👍😊👍
Thank you so much for giving us one of, if not THE most, unique and sympathetic interpretation of MechaGodzilla. I remember feeling kinda bad for this iteration of Mecha G, something I definitely was not expecting. You really outdid yourself with the design too.
You should feel very proud of your creation.
I never thought I would …. virtually meat one of the charter designers of my favorite show well idk if meat is the right word but I’m going with it
@@ashthesas2302 😊🤜🤛
Loved this show. It was exactly the Kaiju fix young pre-teen me needed while waiting for the next millennium Godzilla movie to come to North America. 🖤
Saw some type this on another zilla video, he/she said: that the reason why zilla (the one in the movie) doesn't have durability and doesn't have atomic breath is because zilla is the mutation, zilla jr. is the pure version since he hatched from an egg.
I actually have the Zilla series I love how it shows Zilla is actually the big good guy of the show and he’s one of my favorite versions of the Big G
I dropped tears for Godzilla 1998 on my grade one.
No more negative comments about him ruins his son,s greatest achievements at short period .saving the world multiple times.seriously i need to study a lot more than i expect to share my thoughts for godzilla (zilla jr always god for me).
Let's not forget that slight unintional betrayal on the Tacyon's part where some bone-headed alien made Cyberzilla's fight against his son much harder with a *slight* case of friendly fire that took off the robotic right arm.
I remember Cyber-Zilla. Monster Wars was the first DVD that I've owned from Godzilla the series. I used watch that a lot when I was a kid.
Jr Definitely stole the show.
I am quietly crying in my head
Okay tell me
and that right there is some of the best parts of about Godzilla the series.
Godzilla or not, that movie and later on this series mean a lot to me
Yeah esspecially cause it's sad.
Yes I'm familiar with Cyborg Godzilla. I was around during the 90s.
Had a feeling that Cyber-zilla is the same Godzilla from the movie when I watched this episode of Godzilla The Animated series
Before this vid, I never thought of it that much back then
Godzilla The Animated series and the movie are, without a doubt, my Most Definite favorites
Considering the lack of necromancy abilities of the US military, it's safe to say the original Zilla was not actually killed. Preservatives would have destroyed the muscle tissue and all flexibility, so Zilla was probably placed in a coma from blood loss and as a reptile would have slipped into hibernation while they worked on him. Perhaps he was mostly brain dead, but sadly it's likely he could have been able to heal had they not essentially lobotomized him.
You can't help but feel bad for Godzilla 1998 because from the get-go before he was even born, he was mutated and his parents most likely died when the nuclear bomb hit his home and nest, he died just because he was being an animal and he was brought back to life and had to figth his only son that was still alive and that to me is extremely sad
I used to watch the animated series all the time. Always thought it was just my imagination
Poor cyber-zilla!😭
loved cyber zilla when it came out for monster wars 3 part episode
😢 It was a sad ending for Zilla. All he wanted to do was just survive, but his existences threatened the balance of this planet. But the truth is that humanity was already destroying that balance before Zilla's creation.
And yes, I know of Cyber-Zilla. I'm a fan of the animated series 👍
When the movie released after two days of it being released, I watched it
Yes
I was really sad when the series ended I was hoping for atleast 5 seasons, sadly it was only given 2
yes i know this creature i own the entire show on dvd
I remember Nick saying this line ''im only his adopted father remember looks like he just dumped me for his birth mother"
0:25 no that's only Kiyru and Monsterverse Mechagodzilla.
74/75 Mechagodzilla
93 Mechagodzilla
Are the only ones that are robotic
3:49 it's not
7:41 it should've have gone to New York City in the first place. Why would a cold blooded creature go to a area where the weather changes every few months?
Either way Jr was sterile so the line ended with him if all of cybers offspring were like Jr than all cybers suffering would have been for nothing truly sad
Zilla Jr: I'll never join you! You hurt my father!
Cyber-Zilla: No Jr I am your father!
Zilla Jr: NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Godzilla the Series is the best animated Godzilla form of media and you can't change my mind. CyberZilla fucking ruled.
This is really cool :)
Childhood hype here.
Yes I am
an homage to the Godzilla vs Kiryu movies. The animated series deserves a live-action. I don’t hate the 1998 movie I despise final wars more.
I know of that version of Godzilla & I saw the show, wild stuff.
Poor Zilla.
Yes finally cyber-zilla I’m been waiting for this
I loved the 1998 Godzilla and I loved the series I wish they could return at some point in the future hopefully before my time ends I wanna see the godzillas that introduced me to the big g-man come back atleast one more time… they deserve that at the very least…
I still remember the monster wars. Awesome 👍😎
I would love to see cyber Zilla in the monstvers
In the alternate universe where kids beat their parents in a fight
Yes I know Cyber zilla
Hit me up for your package📦
I cried
Bro I haven't watched the TV show or the 3 part movie in forever
Yeah I feel bad like giganotosaurus including cyber zilla but the one that there is another heartbreaking is kiryu. Kiryu was originally from 1954 gojira
He was like my brother :(
Yes. I had the godzilla the series.
When I first saw the movie as a kid I cried hard when they killed Godzilla because even as a child I knew Godzilla was just following it's instincts 😞
I think that's his mother 😢😢❤
This was sad and dark as hell I remember this episode
Is anyone getting any fnaf 3 vibes from this bc Michael the son the son of William Afton killed his own father by a fire after his zombie cyborg self known as "Spring trap"
Look's like zilla jr was in other dimension he not see he's father back in 1998 the cyber zilla was zombie father or step father
damn i loved the 1998 movie
They also offed off Zillas boo thing ):
The author is caught because of the introduction of deepening of the people. This is GODZILLA Tristar, not Zilla.
Yep I remember him 😐
I am familiar if this beast
*tachyons
Can zilla survive skull island?
The anomated godzillia from 1999 deserves the name godzilla the 1998 one yeah rhat can be zilla bug the animated one is godzilla
This was pretty cool. I just subscribed. Going down the Rabbit hole of your channel.
So sad, i respect zilla...
Yes iam familiar with it I watched the show
It’s the same Godzilla destroyed New York in 1998
Hit me up for your package📦
Fine never mind
It Looks like Zilla.
Zilla is the only version of Godzilla I like.
Not even zilla jr?
I hated the end of this Godzilla. He was the reason we where watching. Nobody watching wanted him to die. I felt it was typical US rhetoric even Godzilla had to bow down to the might of the American military.
I cry d at this
I absolutely love the animated series, this was the version of Zilla we should have got in the movie !!
@Joshua 1992 I think it was over 200 feet tall, not sure of the exact height though.
@Joshua 1992 the 1998 godzilla and the second tristar godzilla were 55 meters tall
Wasn’t the planet Godzilla the biggest
Doesnt matter, when this Zilla is super fast for it's size. Maybe we might even see him in the future movie along side with the legendary zilla@@rre67
For real On Everything💯💯
Yes
Kiryu before it was cool. Except evil.
Yup 👍🏿
and cyber zilla's relationship with zilla is the same as kiryu's relationship with kiryugoji
What are yall talking about this show was fire no cap the show paid more homage to Toho Godzilla then the 98 movie did yall tripping
@@chubsstuart
I meant that it basically did the concept of Kiryu before the films did it so well. Nothing against the show.
@@chubsstuart nobody is ragging on the show. I love it.
I had no idea that Zilla went through all that, it really is sad
Yeah the humans are pieces of trash
Ok
@@Fabio_dax shut up
I'm very familiar of Cyber Zilla. When I first saw this Kaiju, it was like a living dead coming back to get it's revenge on humanity For killing it and it's kids. I feel sorry for this Zilla, it never wanted to attack it's own kind. It was just being used by the leviathan Aliens. I just hope that Zilla finally found peace ✌️🕊️
Very understandable Kajiu that got misunderstood by many people of earth because of their dumbness.
I never got the chance to grow up with this series when it first came out but managed to buy the entire series on DVD and absolutely loved it. So glad to see that even after years of the release of the show, it's still talked about.
Same here.
The show is so good
@@maybetoby It really is.
@@treyrex5987 Godzilla: The Series, Men in Black: The Series, and Extreme Ghostbusters (all by the same studio) were some of my favorite shows back in the day.
@@maybetoby Oh snap! Really? I did not notice that the same studio made all three of those shows and I feel like that should have been really obvious. I feel so dumb but that is a really cool.
I’ll never forget watching the finale to the animated series, one of my favorite memeories!
The animated series is worth to be a Toho Godzilla Official Content certified by Toho happily.
This show needs some props for things like that man !
I have very fond memories of Saturday mornings spent watching the Godzilla Series, as well as Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot.
Absolutely fantastic shows, in my book.
I remember cyber zilla it indeed had a sad backstory like it's design though.
I still love this series , and still hope for a possible season 3 or even having it eventually merge with the monster-verse.
Wow. I didn’t think about any of that. I can’t look at Cyber-Zilla the same way again, because you pointed out, very well, how tragic Cyber-Zilla’s story is.
yeah….
(sobs)
@@joshuagonzalez4183😢😢😢😢😢
I saw that episode and believe that while studying the corpse can be a good thing zilla should've been allowed to rest in peace. What the aliens did to zilla making him cyber-zilla was a most dishonorable thing to do, but to also all but forcing father (birth and adopted) and son to fight is enough to get their name and crimes sent to gen pop before shoving them in. One can look at the final bout as junior giving his birth father some dignity from the afront that was the current existence of.
I like the fact that Fil Barlow's character designs still look good all these years later.
He also was the main character designer on Extreme Ghostbusters and Men In Black the animated series.
I remember seeing this like it was yesterday. I never saw the show when it aired. I was a Cartoon Network kid growing up. That all changed when I bought the 'Monster Wars' trilogy on DVD back in 2006 as a birthday present for myself. I was shocked to find out that this was the same 'Godzilla' from the 98 film. I re-watch the trilogy so many times, I lost count. They need to release the show on Blu-ray with special features.
Godzilla the series is so slept on. Thanks for covering it in this video.
Cyber-Zilla is almost similar MetalGreymon (Virus). Both are cybernetically enhanced reptiles, controlled by malevolent forces: Cyber-Zilla was controlled by the Leviathan Aliens, Virus MetalGreymon was controlled by Ken (who was himself being controlled by the Dark Spores).
I'm a huge fan of Godzilla the Series. I actually have the entire thing on DVD including two unaired episodes.
same!
Whats the unaired episodes?
I like to think that Zilla Jr (it still feels odd calling it that) was more highly evolved than its father. Hence its ability to survive missiles and atomic breath. Zilla Sr needed the cybernetic upgrades to bring himself on par with his son. I always did wonder how much of the originally Zilla Sr was left though. If there was a third season, it would have been nice to him reanimated again, either by Cameron Winter or he military, in which we find out and see something of a Darth Vader redemption for the character.
That was definitely an "oh sh*t" moment for me when he appeared in the cartoon.
The cartoon did a good job of building up the lore to the Monster War 3-parter
Each Saturday I would record Godzilla: The series on VHS and watch it repeatedly. Monster Wars 3 part series at the time blew me away.
I love the way the Zilla 3D model moves! Looks so freaking cool!
I remember when I was a kid and I saw this movie. Having already been a fan since 5 and saw the 98 Godzilla at 8, I knew this wasn’t Godzilla. I still loved it because monster movies were my favorite and I hoped they would made it part of Godzilla’s world.
This series made me love Zilla even more and even wished harder that he’d be part of the Toho community.
Imagine my surprise when they did it in Final Wars, then in Rulers of Earth. I was 8 years old again seeing that lol (I’m aware Zilla gets obliterated in Final Wars but that’s a given lol).
Why have I not heard of this series? 😕
The series came out in 1998, just months after the movie came out in theaters.
Wow I can’t believe I’m the first person to watch this I mean it says there are one viewer
The aliens are called the Leviathans, Takions are the signals that they use to control monsters.
*Cyber-Godzilla
@Joshua 1992 I think they should cancel the MonsterVerse, it's been messed up enough. I would rather see a continuation of Godzilla: The Animated Series with a revived and overpowered *Cyber-Godzilla wreaking havoc, as well as a documentary-style series based on The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island.
Yes
yes I am familiar and I would LOVE if they had a reboot of the series it's so good but is missing the quality I usually watch
Yes
Yes
love zilla and grew up watching the show and was saddened what happened to the mighty lizard and knew zilla jr needed to end the suffering of his fathers corpse and allow it to finally be at peace
This series repaired whatever damage was done by the film. I loved watching it as a kid growing up and now I might give it another watch as it was a staple of my childhood.
No, what repaired the damage was watching Zilla get his butt kicked, but the REAL Godzilla in Godzilla Final War. That was perfect and well deserved. Now this animated series, was just great and I still love it. The opening is great too.
